Biodiversity Research Institute Conservation Education Center Introduction
In Jiji Township, there is a treasure known as the "Biodiversity Research Institute." To promote local ecological education in Taiwan, the Biodiversity Research Institute features a "Conservation Education Center" with static displays that provide detailed information about Taiwan's ecosystems, endemic flora and fauna, and environmental conservation issues. The center regularly hosts various themed exhibitions and has guides who explain conservation concepts in an easy-to-understand manner, helping the public gain a deeper understanding. Additionally, it offers services like viewing ecological films, multimedia resources, and conservation literature. Outside the center, there is a large ecological education park planted with various species of plants, along with a butterfly garden. The ecological education park is designed to mimic a forest environment to attract birds and insects to inhabit the area. Within the park, there is also an aquatic plant ecology pond, where visitors can relax in a pavilion and enjoy the sight of groups of mallards swimming leisurely, making it feel like being in a jungle. Here, apart from gaining knowledge, visitors can also relieve their tension. Furthermore, the conservation center has a wildlife rescue station, which has rescued over 3,000 wild animals since 2000, and there are raptors undergoing rehabilitation in the education park. A stroll along the ecological trail allows visitors to get up close and personal with these precious birds that are usually hard to see!
