Biodiversity Research Institute Conservation Education Center Introduction
There is a treasure in Jiji Township, which is the "Biodiversity Research Institute." To promote local ecological education in Taiwan, the Biodiversity Research Institute has a "Conservation Education Hall" with static displays that provide detailed information about Taiwan's ecosystems, endemic plants and animals, and environmental conservation issues. It also regularly hosts various themed exhibitions; the education hall is staffed with interpreters who guide the public to better understand conservation concepts in an accessible way. Additionally, it offers services such as ecological film screenings, multimedia, conservation literature, and resources, making it one of the important places for conservation education in our country. Outside the hall, there is a large ecological education garden with various plants and a butterfly garden. The ecological education garden is intentionally designed to resemble a forest environment to attract birds and insects to inhabit the area. The garden also features aquatic plant ecological pools, where visitors can rest in pavilions and enjoy the sight of flocks of mallards leisurely swimming by, creating the illusion of being in a jungle; here, along with gaining knowledge, one can also relieve stress and tension. In addition, the conservation center has a wildlife rescue station that has rescued over 3,000 wild animals since 2000, and there are raptors undergoing rehabilitation in the education garden. A stroll along the ecological trail allows visitors to greet these precious birds that are not easily seen in everyday life!
