Taomi Leisure Agricultural Zone Introduction
Taomi Leisure Agriculture Area is located in Puli Township, Nantou, and is an ecological rural area surrounded by mountains and water, with lush greenery. It is traversed by the Taomi River and five tributaries, nurturing rich and diverse natural ecological resources and a simple rural landscape. After the 921 earthquake in 1999, local residents joined hands to reconstruct the area, combining ecological conservation, agricultural resources, and tourism industry, successfully establishing one of the most distinctive leisure agriculture areas in Taiwan, also known as Taomi Ecological Village. The Taomi Leisure Agriculture Area not only boasts rich natural ecology, including 19 species of frogs, 43 species of dragonflies and damselflies, but also features facilities such as forest bathing trails, water waterfalls, ecological ponds, and nurseries, allowing visitors to get close to nature and enjoy the pleasures of forest bathing and ecological observation. In addition, the area develops diverse agricultural experience activities, such as passion fruit, edible shoot, tree grape, and bamboo shoot farming experiences, and offers DIY workshops, picnics, hiking, and nighttime frog and firefly watching ecological tours, making it suitable for families and ecology tourism enthusiasts. At the same time, the Taomi Leisure Agriculture Area actively promotes cultural arts and community building, enhancing tourism quality and depth of experience, and becoming a model for rural regeneration. The area also has several licensed homestays for convenient accommodation and offers customized travel suggestions, allowing travelers to deeply explore Taomi's natural and cultural charm.
