Alishan Xianglin Sacred Tree Introduction
The Xianglin Sacred Tree in Alishan, formerly known as "Guangwu Cypress," is a type of red cypress and is a composite wood. It was named by former Chairman of the Taiwan Provincial Government, Huang Jie, as it is estimated that the sacred tree germinated during the reign of Emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty.
