祝山

Due to its prominent terrain and broad views, every dawn, countless rays of light shine down, creating a spectacular sight, especially with the sea of clouds formed in the valleys. Many tourists travel long distances just to witness this breathtaking scene. As early as the Japanese colonial period, Zhu Mountain was an important spot for watching the sunrise. However, at that time, visitors could only ascend Zhu Mountain or Diguashan via hiking trails. In 1971, the Forestry Bureau opened the Zhu Mountain Forest Road to replace the original narrow paths, but due to conflicts between vehicles and pedestrians and air pollution, a railway was built in May 1984 to regulate vehicle access. Since the Zhu Mountain railway only operates in the early morning, it hurriedly descends after sunrise, making it the highest train station in Taiwan and the earliest station in the nation for commuting!
