祝山

Due to its prominent terrain and broad view, during sunrise, countless beams of light spread across the land, combined with the sea of clouds formed in the valleys, creating a magnificent spectacle. Many tourists travel from afar just to witness this stunning sight. As early as the Japanese colonial period, Zhu Mountain was an important spot for viewing the sunrise. However, at that time, access to Zhu Mountain or Digu Mountain was only possible via hiking trails. Starting from 1971, the Forest Bureau opened the Zhu Mountain Forest Road to replace the original narrow paths, but due to conflicts between pedestrians and vehicles, as well as pollution, a railway was built in May 1984 to regulate vehicle access. Since the Zhu Mountain Line railway only operates in the early morning and hastily descends after sunrise, it is the highest train station in Taiwan and also the earliest station for commuting in the country!
