Shimen Wind Farm (Windmill Park) Introduction
Shimen not only boasts rich marine landscapes, but its unique topography makes wind power an important feature of the area. Following the road towards the Shihmen Wang Gong Temple, you can see towering giant wind turbines on the distant hills. This is the Shimen Wind Power Plant - Wind Turbine Park, the first wind turbine installation in Taiwan. Shimen Wind Turbine Park has been praised by netizens as the "Cape of Good Hope of the North Coast," a must-take photo spot in northern Taiwan. The area features a total of six wind turbines, clad in red and white, which give the turbines a cute and lively style. A stroll along the walking path allows visitors to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the turbines and the azure sea. During the season when wild lilies bloom each year, the pure white flowers add a romantic charm to the Wind Turbine Park. Following the wooden path downwards leads to a viewing platform, which has a sunshade designed with the imagery of a sail, inspired by Shimen's renowned kites. Standing on the viewing platform, you can overlook a coast view exceeding 180 degrees, showcasing the beautiful scenery where the sea meets the sky.
