Caoli Fishing Port Introduction
Originally named Ali Lao, it is located on the Danjin Highway, about a ten-minute walk from the Eighteen Lords Temple. The harbor was originally a mooring place for small fishing boats and sampans. Today, it has a 0.39-hectare harbor area and a dock available for boat usage, but due to the shallow harbor, the dock is only used for regular operations; fishing boats will seek shelter in the nearby Fugu Fishing Port during larger winds and waves. Related land facilities include mooring equipment and signaling light poles. After renovation, Caoli Fishing Port in Shimen District has optimized the fishing environment and added life buoys. This area has calm waves and a diverse range of fish species, including stinkfish, mullet, bluegill, and pufferfish, making it the first fishing port selected for transformation, with the addition of the Caoli Coffee Station to provide a more relaxing break for fishing tourists.
