Caoli Fishing Port Introduction
Originally named Ali Lao, it is located on the Danshuei-Jinshan Highway, about a ten-minute walk from the Shibawanggong Temple. The harbor was originally a docking place for small fishing boats and canoes, but now has an area of 0.39 hectares available for mooring and a dock that can accommodate boats. However, due to the shallow nature of the harbor, the dock is currently only used for regular operations, and in the event of larger waves, fishing boats will head to the nearby Fugu Fishing Port for shelter. Related onshore facilities include a loading area, water station, fuel storage, and marker light poles. The Caoli Fishing Harbor in Shimen District has undergone renovations, optimizing the fishing areas, adding railings, installing lifebuoys, and allowing for family night-time charcoal grilling. This location is known for its calm waves and diverse fish species, including stinky fish, bamboo fish, greenling, and pufferfish, and has been chosen as the first fishing port for transformation. Future plans include adding a coffee station to allow fishing tourists to relax and unwind.
