Chou's Museum of Contemporary Art Introduction
The Ju Ming Museum is located in the mountainous area of the Northern Coast in Jinshan District, New Taipei City. It is affiliated with the Ju Ming Cultural Foundation, and was established by founder Ju Ming over a period of 12 years, officially opening to the public on September 19, 1999. Nestled in the mountains, the Ju Ming Museum aims to promote "sculpture" art and "children's art education," hoping to plant the seeds of art in everyone's hearts. The museum houses classic works from Ju Ming's "Hometown Series," "Tai Chi Series," and "Human Series." The park showcases grand artistic works surrounded by mountains and the sea, with distinct seasonal climate, primarily featuring outdoor exhibition spaces, setting it apart from other art museums. Here, visitors can bask in the embrace of blue skies and green fields, enjoying the artworks in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. The Ju Ming Museum is the largest outdoor museum in Taiwan, closely connected to nature. The ecological pond completed in 2020 features over 93% native plant species around it, adding unique charm to the museum. Additionally, through ecological self-learning tools, guided manuals, and experiential courses on the ecological environment, audience curiosity about the museum's ecological areas is stimulated, encouraging different audiences to explore the ecological pond and its surroundings, generating interest in environmental awareness and facilitating deeper learning. In terms of children's art education, the "ACE Art Seed Teacher-Museum School Collaboration Project" was launched in 2004, and the "Children's Art Service Sustainable Project" was also initiated, which received the ICOM (International Council of Museums) Education and Cultural Action Committee Best Practice Award in 2017. The "Children's Art Center" was established in 2007, hosting Taiwan's first "Children's Art Education Biennale" aimed at children and educators. Resources related to education are invested to support various projects, continuously fostering sustainable roots in children's aesthetics through performances, camps, events, workshops, training courses, and museum-school collaborations in Taiwan.
