Coastal Forest Park Introduction
Zhunan Coastal Forest Recreation Area, while its beach is not suitable for swimming, is a beautiful stretch of coastline where visitors can wade in the water and enjoy the sunset over the Taiwan Strait. The area features scenic views, with original Casuarina and palm trees providing shade. Whether walking to appreciate the scenery or cycling for exercise, one can immerse themselves in nature while being refreshed by the sea breeze, making it an ideal summer getaway for families. Here, you can not only enjoy the sea but also breathe in the forest air! Zhunan Coastal Forest Recreation Area is a historic Casuarina windbreak forest, currently divided into zones such as "Family Forest," "Weekend Forest," and "Evergreen Forest." Stretching approximately 8 kilometers from the northern end at Qiding Beach to the southern end at the estuary of Zhonggang River, the park covers an area of about 150 hectares. The Evergreen Forest, Family Forest, and Weekend Forest south of Longfeng Harbor are well-equipped with facilities and are popular spots for local residents to relax, hike, and observe insect ecology. In the northern area near the fishing port is the "North Coastal Forest Park Recreation Area," which leads directly to Qiding Beach, offering sandy beaches and wooden boardwalks for sea views, as well as sighting wind turbines along the coast. The sight of a row of white windmills turning in the wind is both beautiful and interesting, enticing visitors to snap photos enthusiastically. Family Forest: This area features various outdoor sports facilities made of raw timber, such as rope bridges, slides, and wooden posts, making it a playground for children and a place for families to enjoy outdoor activities together. Evergreen Forest: The facilities here prioritize visitors' relaxation. At the entrance, a colorful lotus pond is home to green-headed ducks, and alongside the water lilies, various aquatic plants like water candles make this place suitable for outdoor education. Weekend Forest: It contains various pavilions and stone tables and chairs for picnicking and cooling off, as well as well-planned leisure bike paths leading to the Family Forest and Evergreen Forest. The bike paths are constructed using ecological methods, retaining the original natural features. Additionally, the coastal park, located under the shade of coastal trees, makes it cool and pleasant for cycling in summer and protects against the strong northeast monsoon in winter, ensuring comfort throughout the year.
