Coastal Forest Park Introduction
Zhunan Coastal Forest Recreation Area has a beach that is not suitable for swimming due to its depth, so it has not been designated as a swimming area. However, the straight and long coastline allows for wading and watching the sunset over the Taiwan Strait. The scenic views along the way are beautiful, shaded by native Casuarina and palm trees, making it an ideal spot for walking to enjoy the scenery or cycling while being embraced by the sea breeze and the benefits of phytoncides, allowing one to immerse in nature and escape the summer heat. It's a great place for families to enjoy summer outings. Come on, here you can not only see the sea and play in the water, but also "breathe in the forest"! Zhunan Coastal Forest Recreation Area is a historic Casuarina windbreak forest, currently planned into different forest sections like “Family Forest,” “Weekend Forest,” and “Evergreen Forest.” The area stretches about 8 kilometers from the northern end at Qidong Beach to the southern end at the mouth of Zhonggang River, covering an area of approximately 150 hectares. The Evergreen Forest, Family Forest, and Weekend Forest south of Longfeng Harbor are well-equipped with facilities, serving as a popular leisure and hiking spot for local residents to observe insect ecology. On the northern side of the fishing port, the “North Coastal Forest Park Recreation Area” leads directly north to Qidong Beach. Along the way, there are beaches and wooden walkways for enjoying ocean views, where wind turbines can be seen along the coastline. Watching a row of white windmills turning in the wind creates a beautiful and interesting scene that is irresistible for visitors who can’t help but snap photos. Family Forest: This area features various outdoor sports facilities made of raw wood, such as rope bridges, slides, and wooden stumps, creating a playground for children and a space for families to enjoy outdoor activities together. Evergreen Forest: The facilities here are primarily designed for visitor relaxation. At the entrance, a colorful lotus pond serves as a habitat for mallard ducks, and alongside water lilies, various aquatic plants like water candles make it a suitable place for outdoor education. Weekend Forest: This area has various pavilions and stone tables and chairs for visitors to picnic and cool off, with well-planned recreational bike paths leading directly to the Family and Evergreen Forests. The bike paths are made of eco-friendly materials, preserving the natural landscape, and since the coastal park is located under the shade of coastal forests, strong summer sun is filtered out, and it also shields against the harsh northeast monsoon in winter, making cycling enjoyable and refreshing all year round.
