Coastal Forest Park Introduction
Zhunan Coastal Forest Recreation Area does not have a designated swimming beach due to its unsuitable water depth, but its long and straight coastline offers opportunities for wading and watching the sunset over the Taiwan Strait. The scenic views along the coast, shaded by native Casuarina and palm trees, make it a great place for leisurely walks or cycling, where visitors can enjoy the refreshing sea breeze and the benefits of phytoncides, merging with nature and alleviating the summer heat. It is also an excellent destination for families during the summer. Come and experience the beauty of the sea and the refreshing ambiance of the forest! Zhunan Coastal Forest Recreation Area features a historic Casuarina windbreak and is organized into zones such as "Family Forest," "Weekend Forest," and "Evergreen Forest." Stretching approximately 8 kilometers from the Qiding Beach at the north end to the Zhonggang River estuary at the south end, it covers an area of about 150 hectares. The Evergreen Forest, Family Forest, and Weekend Forest south of Longfeng Harbor are well-equipped with pathways and facilities, making them popular spots for locals to relax, hike, and observe insect ecology. The "North Coastal Forest Park Recreation Area," located north of the fishing port, leads directly to Qiding Beach, featuring beaches and boardwalks with scenic views of the sea, where visitors can also see wind turbines along the coast, creating a beautiful and interesting sight that entices many to capture the moment with their cameras. Family Forest: This area has various outdoor play facilities made from logs, such as rope bridges, slides, and wooden stakes, making it a fun place for children to play and for families to enjoy outdoor activities together. Evergreen Forest: The facilities here focus on providing relaxation for visitors. At the entrance, a colorful lotus pond is home to mallards, while various aquatic plants such as water lilies and water candles make it a suitable venue for outdoor education. Weekend Forest: This area has various pavilions and stone tables and chairs for picnics and relaxation, with well-planned recreational bike paths that connect to the Family Forest and Evergreen Forest. The bike paths are made from eco-friendly materials, preserving the natural landscape, and since the coastal park is located under a shade of coastal trees, summer's intense sun is blocked, while winter's strong northeast monsoon is shielded, making it a cool and pleasant destination for cycling throughout the year.
