Coastal Forest Park Introduction
Zhunan Coastal Forest Recreation Area is not planned as a beach due to the water depth being unsuitable for swimming. However, the straight and long coastline allows visitors to wade in the waves and enjoy the sunset over the Taiwan Strait. The beautiful scenery along the coast, with its native Casuarina and palm trees providing shade, makes it an excellent place for walking or cycling while being embraced by the refreshing sea breeze and the aromatic phytoncides. This area offers a perfect escape from the summer heat and is a great destination for families to enjoy summer outings together. Here, you can not only enjoy the sea and water but also breathe in the "forest" air! The Zhunan Coastal Forest Recreation Area features a historic Casuarina windbreak forest, now planned into different forest areas such as "Family Forest," "Weekend Forest," and "Evergreen Forest." Stretching approximately 8 kilometers from the northern Qiding Beach to the southern mouth of the Chonggang River, it covers an area of about 150 hectares. The Evergreen Forest, Family Forest, and Weekend Forest, located south of Longfeng Harbor, are well-equipped with facilities and have long been a favorite spot for local residents to relax, hike, and observe insect ecology. The "North Coastal Forest Park Recreation Area," located north of the fishing port, leads directly to Qiding Beach, offering sandy beaches and wooden walkways with coastal views, as well as sighting wind turbines along the shore. Watching the row of white windmills turning gracefully in the wind provides a beautiful and fascinating scene that is irresistible for visitors to capture with their cameras. Family Forest: This area features various outdoor sports facilities made from raw wood, including a rope suspension bridge, slides, and wooden posts, providing a place for children to play freely and for families to enjoy outdoor activities together. Evergreen Forest: The facilities here are mainly designed for visitor relaxation. At the entrance, a colorful lotus pond is home to green-headed ducks, along with various aquatic plants such as water lilies and water candles, making it quite suitable for outdoor educational activities. Weekend Forest: This area includes various pavilions and stone tables and chairs for picnics and cooling off in the shade, with a well-planned leisure bike path leading directly to the Family Forest and Evergreen Forest. The bike path, paved using ecological methods, retains its original natural appearance, and the coastal park, located under the shade of coastal trees, ensures that the scorching summer sun is somewhat blocked, while also providing shelter from the strong northeast monsoons in winter, making it a refreshing place to ride throughout the year.
