Miaoli North Arts and Culture Center Introduction
In order to achieve balanced regional development across Miaoli County, the Miaoli County Government has constructed the "Miaobei Cultural and Arts Center," a cultural space that blends aesthetics with leisure and lifestyle. The original intention is to integrate the cultural resources of the Miaobei living circle to enhance the local cultural literacy and artistic atmosphere. It also focuses on promoting local characteristic culture to the international stage while appropriately introducing cross-strait and international cultural elements, making Miaoli County a joyful place to enjoy cultural life. The "Miaobei Cultural and Arts Center" is a modern building with five above-ground floors and two basement levels, covering a total area of 0.9255 hectares. The center is designated as a "city and county-level" performance venue, with main spaces planned to include an auditorium (1,090 seats), an experimental theater (230 seats), an audiovisual center, an outdoor performance area, a cultural exhibition area, and artist residency studios. It is designed to accommodate various types of music, drama, dance performances, exhibitions, training functions, and large gatherings for both domestic and international events. Given that the essence of artistic culture encompasses not only visual and auditory artistic performances but also the audience's firsthand experience of participating in cultural activities, the future operational policy of the Miaobei Cultural and Arts Center will focus on "operational management" and "event production." The aim is to integrate local cultural and creative industry resources and strengthen community performance effectiveness. The planning will center on three main aspects: "cultural performances," "educational inheritance," and "cultural leisure," building the Miaobei Arts and Culture Special Zone as the core of development. The goal is to primarily serve the local community in Miaobei and gradually expand its reach to the entire Miaoli County and art enthusiasts across the country.
