Miaoli: Sifang Fresh Milk Cheese Story Museum Introduction

The history of Sifang can be described as one of continuous transformation. Sifang originally started with ready-made garment manufacturing. In the 1980s, due to the appreciation of the New Taiwan Dollar and the opening up of Mainland China, Sifang began to consider its first transformation. With government policies protecting the livestock industry, Sifang decided to venture into livestock farming and established Sifang Ranch in 1989. However, after entering the livestock industry, it became apparent that the labor costs were higher than those of small dairy farmers, resulting in lower competitiveness. To enhance competitiveness, Sifang contemplated its second transformation and assessed that there should be opportunities in the dairy industry, leading to the establishment of Sifang Dairy Industry Co., Ltd. in 1994. In the early years, Sifang realized that sales were the biggest challenge in entering the dairy industry. A significant amount of effort was dedicated to promoting products, gradually gaining a foothold in the organic channel and direct sales delivery market. In 2012, Sifang decided to apply for guidance on tourism factories as a driving force for further product promotion. It successfully passed evaluation in 2015, entering the tourism factory industry, hoping for further enhancement in promoting Sifang products.
