Shanjiao Elementary School Introduction
Due to its location at the intersection of the Mountain-Sea Line and its position as the geographical center of Yuanli Township, Shanjiao Village has attracted many visitors since over thirty years ago, developing into a bustling town filled with small to medium-sized factories and shops. Additionally, with the backing of Huoyan Mountain, the area possesses high-quality soil suitable for brick and tile production, leading to a glorious history of the brick and tile industry. The skilled hands of local women have also created a stage for the rush weaving industry. However, with the passage of time, the once prosperous brick and tile industry and rush weaving have diminished. The local residents are concerned that population outflow could create a bottleneck for the area's development. Thus, in 2004, they independently established the "Shanjiao Community Development Association of Yuanli Township, Miaoli County," to identify and integrate the community's characteristics, aiming to redevelop the rush weaving, brick sculpture culture, and rice-related specialty industries. Now, under the careful management of the association, the Shanjiao community has found a new path. In addition to irregularly hosting DIY workshops or related exhibitions, it also provides guided tours of cultural attractions, becoming a cultural community that showcases local特色.
