Tongxing Old Street Introduction

Tongxing Old Street is the earliest street in Holo, and it served as a collection center for the exchange of local products between Han Chinese and the Pingpu people. Later, as the Holo River gradually silted up, the Han people began to cultivate fields along the riverbank, leading to a growing population and the formation of Holo Street, which is now the city center. To the east of Tongguang Elementary School, there is a small irrigation ditch that used to have crystal-clear water, where Pingpu women would wash clothes, thus it was named "Fanpozi Ditch." During the prosperous period of Gongliao Harbor, Tongxing Old Street was the most bustling street. Today, it has become a quaint old street, and the early shop buildings along the street reveal that the Holo River mouth once played a significant role in trade and commerce.
