Tongxing Old Street Introduction

Tongxing Old Street is the oldest street in Holo, serving as a center for trade between Han people and the Pingpu indigenous people. Later, as the Holo River gradually silted up, the Han people reclaimed land by the river for agriculture, leading to an increase in population and the formation of Holo Street, which is now the city center. There is a small drainage ditch to the east of Tongguang Elementary School, where the river was once exceptionally clear and Pingpu women would wash clothes, earning it the name "Fanpozi Ditch." During the prosperous period of Gongsi Liao Port, Tongxing Old Street was the busiest street. Now it has become a quaint old street, and the early merchant buildings alongside the street hint at the Holo River's role in trade and commerce.
