Country Legend Leisure Farm Introduction
The Xiangye Legend Leisure Farm is located in the Hudu Leisure Agriculture Area of Xihu Township, Miaoli County. It is situated at a high elevation, directly above the Xihu Rest Area on the Zhongtou Expressway, allowing visitors to overlook what is claimed to be the most beautiful rest area in the country, as well as enjoy views of the western coastal area. At night, the scenery becomes even more enchanting, with the bustling flow of traffic on the highway, the crowds of people in the rest area, the fishing boats dotting the sea, and the countless lights of the countryside, all accompanied by the sounds of insects and birds in the farm area. The beauty of Xihu is fully revealed here. The name "Xiangye Legend" was chosen because besides growing pomelo trees that have been planted for nearly twenty years, the rest of the area was once desolate. It was only nine years ago that my husband and I decided to renovate the place. From the land cultivation to the construction of every blade of grass and every brick and stone in the farm, it has all been managed with the collective effort of our family. Over the years, it has allowed us to gather our strength and has become our most beautiful dream; we hope that one day it can become a kind of legend in this countryside. The richness of the ecology is a unique feature of the farm, where crickets, butterflies, frogs, and cicadas can be seen everywhere. There are hundreds of Taiwan red pines, maple trees, töltun (Vernicia fordii), and various green trees over forty years old providing ample shade to cool down. Here, you can enjoy freshly ground hand-made coffee under the trees, brew flower tea, have family barbecues, or gather for meals. From late March to mid-April, you can smell the fragrance of pomelo flowers throughout the garden, taste pomelo flower tea, and even adopt a pomelo tree. In mid-April to mid-May, you can appreciate the oil tung flowers known as “May Snow,” and from mid-May to mid-June, the golden mimosa flowers. In September, the pomelos are open for self-picking. The entire farm is organically cultivated without the use of pesticides, ensuring that what you eat is both healthy and safe.
