Swa-Si-Ge Tribe Introduction
The name of the Swasiq tribe comes from the Atayal language "Swasiq," which means a place abundant in nightshades (a type of wild vegetable); because it is located at the foot of Longshan Mountain, the name "Longshan Tribe" is also widely used. The famous entrance to the "Henglong Ancient Trail" is located just above the Swasiq tribe. Friends visiting the Taian Ancient Trail or the hot springs might consider taking some time to explore this tribe. In addition to the Longshan Police Station and the Swasiq Church, most of the area in the Swasiq tribe consists of residential homes. Although they are modern concrete buildings, the local residents have painted indigenous-themed murals on the continuous residential walls to recreate the Atayal tribal atmosphere, showcasing traditional lifestyle features and local agricultural products. The tribe also features traditional Atayal stilt houses, with cultural relics and craft studios hidden in the alleys, making it a suitable place for leisurely strolls to enjoy peaceful and relaxing moments.
