Swareq Tribe Introduction
The name of Swasiq Tribe comes from the Atayal language "Swasiq," which means a place abundant in black nightshade (a type of wild vegetable). Because it is located at the foot of Longshan Mountain, the name "Longshan Tribe" is also widely used. The entrance to the famous "Henglong Ancient Path" is located above Swasiq Tribe, so if you're visiting the Tai'an Ancient Path or soaking in hot springs, consider taking some time to explore this tribe. In Swasiq Tribe, aside from the Longshan Police Station and Swasiq Church, most of the buildings are residential homes. Although they are all modern concrete structures, local residents have painted indigenous designs on the continuous residential walls to recreate the atmosphere of the Atayal tribe, showcasing traditional lifestyles and local agricultural products. The tribe has also built traditional Atayal stilt houses, with cultural artifacts and craftsmanship workshops hidden in the alleyways, making it suitable for a leisurely stroll to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing time.
