Sualwuxi Tribe Introduction
The name of Swasiq Tribe comes from the Atayal language "Swasiq," which means a land abundant in nightshades (a type of wild vegetable); since it is located at the foot of Longshan Mountain, the name "Longshan Tribe" is also widely used. The entrance to the famous "Henglong Ancient Trail" is situated above the Swasiq Tribe. Friends visiting the Tai'an Ancient Trail or enjoying the hot springs might consider taking some time to explore this tribe. In addition to the Longshan Police Station and Swasiq Church, most of the structures in the Swasiq Tribe are residential houses. Although they are modern concrete buildings, the local residents have painted indigenous motifs on the continuous residential walls to recreate the atmosphere of the Atayal tribe, showcasing traditional living features and local agricultural products. The tribe also features traditional Atayal-style elevated houses, and workshops for traditional artifacts and crafts are hidden in the alleyways, making it suitable for casual strolls and enjoying a tranquil leisure time.
