Svasayge Tribe Introduction
The name of Swasiq Tribe comes from the Atayal language "Swasiq," meaning a place rich in nightshades (a type of wild vegetable). Since it is located at the foot of Longshan Mountain, the name "Longshan Tribe" is also widely used. The entrance to the famous "Henglong Ancient Trail" is located above Swasiq Tribe. Friends visiting the Tai'an Ancient Trail or soaking in hot springs may want to take some time to visit this tribe. Within Swasiq Tribe, apart from the Longshan Police Station and Swasiq Church, most of the area consists of residential houses. Although they are modern concrete buildings, the local residents have painted traditional indigenous decorations on the continuous residential walls to recreate the Atayal tribal atmosphere, showcasing traditional lifestyle features and local agricultural products. The tribe also has traditional high-platform houses unique to the Atayal people, and traditional artifacts and craft studios are hidden among the alleys, making it a perfect place to stroll and enjoy a peaceful leisure time.
