Swarek Tribe Introduction
The name of the Swasiq tribe comes from the Atayal language "Swasiq," which means a land abundant in nightshades (a type of wild vegetable); because it is located at the foot of Longshan Mountain, the name "Longshan Tribe" is also widely used. The well-known entrance to the Henglong Ancient Trail is located above the Swasiq tribe. Friends visiting the Tai'an Ancient Trail or enjoying hot springs might as well take some time to stroll through this tribe. Within the Swasiq tribe, apart from the Longshan Police Station and Swasiq Church, most of the buildings are residential homes. Although these are modern concrete buildings, local residents have adorned the continuous walls of residences with indigenous-style paintings to recreate the atmosphere of an Atayal tribe, showcasing traditional lifestyle features and local agricultural products. The tribe has also constructed unique Atayal stilt houses, and traditional artifacts and craft studios are hidden among the alleys, making it a perfect place to leisurely wander and enjoy a tranquil and relaxing time.
