清水岩寺於清雍正6年（1728）創立，初創之時，結草為庵，至清乾隆年間，由住持覺通禪師及地方士紳募捐遷建至今日現址，清乾隆23年（1758）、清嘉慶24年（1819）曾重修，彰化縣志以「清水春光」為彰化八景之一。清光緒10年（1884）由監生蕭貞吉、生員蕭錦江等士紳倡議重修，完成修復後，由清水岩住持僧欲標敬立「清水春光」匾。清水岩寺正殿供奉三寶佛，即藥師佛、釋迦牟尼佛及阿彌陀佛，神龕左側供奉清水祖師，右側供奉註生娘娘。

Qingshuiyan Temple, a County-designated Historic Site, is an elegant building located at No. 1, Qingshuiyan Road, Qingshui Village, Shetou Township. The temple enshrines Shakyamuni Buddha and Guanyin of the Southern Sea. In front of the temple, there is a Spring Pavilion and a Dragon Pool. The architecture is ancient and graceful, surrounded by protective walls, and it preserves many historic relics and ancient couplets, making it an excellent place for Buddhist worship and exploring antiquities.
