Qingshui Rock Recreation Area Introduction

Qingshuiyan Recreational Area is a famous attraction in Shetou, Changhua. In addition to the elegant and historic Qingshuiyan Temple, it is also home to a rich natural ecological park that attracts large numbers of visitors for pilgrimage, whether on weekdays or during weekends and holidays. The temple has a history of 277 years, having been established in the 6th year of the Yongzheng Emperor's reign in the Qing Dynasty, which corresponds to the year 1728. The temple primarily enshrines the Three Treasures Buddha and Guanyin Bodhisattva, along with other deities such as Qingshui Master and Childbirth Goddess. Because there is clear spring water beside the temple and the surrounding scenery is beautiful, it is renowned as "Qingshui Spring Light" and is one of the "Eight Sceneries of Changhua City." In the right front yard of the temple, there is a naturally sweet dew spring that is recognized as one of the three famous springs during the Japanese occupation period, along with Beitou Longevity Spring and Taitung Beauty Spring, which supplies water for public use. Next to the spring, a small square well named "Only I Know Contentment" has been established to remind visitors that the spring water is not easily obtained and they should appreciate their sources. Additionally, Qingshuiyan Temple features an elegant garden surrounded by streams and small bridges, where the Spring Light Pavilion is located. After visiting the garden, visitors can head to the pavilion to fully enjoy the spring scenery of Qingshuiyan. The Qingshuiyan Ecological Exhibition Center, located next to the temple, showcases hundreds of precious insect specimens with detailed text explanations, allowing visitors to better understand the importance of ecological conservation. Furthermore, on the other side of the temple is the "Qingshuiyan Ecological Park," which not only plants a variety of butterfly nectar and forage plants but also extensively cultivates wax trees, creating a conservation area for stag beetles, making it a great choice for schools and organizations to promote environmental education. To enable visitors to deeply experience local ecological culture and the development of cultural and creative industries, the Qingshuiyan Ecological Cultural and Creative Association plans various interesting DIY experiences and ecological tours, such as leaf printing, creative steamed bun shaping, and fresh guava picking, aiming to educate while entertaining, so that all visiting guests can leave with a full experience.
