Wu Family Noodle House Introduction
Wujia Noodle House is the only noodle kneading cultural museum in Taiwan. Established in 2005, it has been ten years since. Located in Xihu, Changhua, the Wujia family is very special; every member of the family is engaged in the same industry - all related to noodle kneading! To continue the traditional noodle kneading culture, they not only showcase it to Taiwanese people but also to foreigners, effectively weaving the culture into everyone's lives. In celebration of its tenth anniversary, Wujia Noodle House has invested 30 million NTD to renovate the venue.
In addition, the museum will hold a thematic exhibition on agricultural culture and a series of traditional temple exhibitions. Using themed dough figurine works, it will express the origins of Wu family dough figurines and the rituals associated with temple festivals, as well as the status and role of temple festivals in agricultural society. It showcases the agricultural society's appreciation and gratitude for food, along with the reverence and respect for nature. The traditional cultural features of temples that have emerged from this are also represented through dough figurine works, accompanied by guided tours, allowing the local community to re-recognize the roots of their own culture through the exhibition.
※ The national treasure inheritor, Grandma Wu from the Wu family, Wu Chen-su, will perform dough figurine crafting at the site from time to time.
