Xihu Township Office Introduction

The Xiluo Village Office was built on June 1, 1943, during the Showa period and was the highest administrative authority in Xiluo at that time. After the restoration, the original Xiluo Village was restructured into Xiluo Township, and the village office was changed to the Xiluo Township Office. Behind the township office, there used to be dormitories and a duty guardhouse. In 1967, the dormitories were demolished, and an office was added on the southwest side. In the 1970s, the guardhouse was also demolished, and an office was built on the southeast side. Originally, in 1982, there were plans to demolish the original village office building, but this was later put on hold. Since 1986, it has been used as the township office, and on April 10, 2002, it was registered as a historical building. The original Xiluo Village Office is a two-story building made of reinforced concrete and brick, featuring a four-sloped roof covered with cement tiles. The façade of the office has a gabled parapet, with three arched clay sculptures below the gable, flanked by windows and a central entrance leading to a balcony. The exterior of the Xiluo Village Office presents geometric shapes, showcasing an Art Deco architectural style. On the right side of the office, a staircase leads to the second floor, which was originally used as a hall but is currently the office of the Xiluo Village Clerk.
