Xiluo Township Office Introduction

The Xiluo Township Office was established on June 1, 1943, during the Showa period, serving as the highest administrative authority in Xiluo at that time. After the retrocession of Taiwan, the original Xiluo Township was restructured into Xiluo Town, and the township office was renamed as the Xiluo Town Office. Originally, behind the town office were dormitories and a guard post, but the dormitories were demolished in 1967, and an office building was constructed on the southwest side. In the 1970s, the guard post was removed, and another office was built on the southeast side. In 1982, there were plans to demolish the original township office building, but this was eventually halted for various reasons. Since 1986, the building has been used as the town office, and on April 10, 2002, it was registered as a historical building. The original Xiluo Township Office is a two-story reinforced concrete and brick building with a four-sloped roof covered with cement tiles. The facade features a gable roof with three arched earthen sculptures below it, flanked by windows, and a central entrance leading to a balcony. The exterior has a geometric shape and showcases an Art Deco architectural style. To the right of the town office, a staircase leads to the second floor, which was originally used as a hall but currently serves as the office for the village secretary.
