Xihu Township Office Introduction
The Xihu Township Office was built on June 1, 1943, during the Showa era, serving as the highest administrative authority of Xihu at that time. After the retrocession, the original Xihu Township was restructured into Xihu Town, and the township office became the Xihu Town Hall. Behind the town hall, there was originally a dormitory and a guard room, which were demolished in 1967, and an office building was constructed on the southwest side. In the 1980s, the guard room was also demolished, and an office was built on the southeast side. In 1982, there were plans to demolish the original township office building, but this was later halted for various reasons. Since 1986, it has been used as the town hall office and was registered as a historical building on April 10, 2002. The original Xihu Township Office is a two-story building made of reinforced concrete and brick, with a four-pitch roof covered with cement tiles. The facade of the office features a gabled parapet with three arched clay sculptures below it, alongside windows and a central doorway leading to a balcony. The appearance of the Xihu Township Office has a geometric shape, displaying an Art Deco architectural style. On the right side of the township office, a staircase leads to the second floor, which was originally used as a hall but is now the office of the Xihu Village clerk.
