Golden Shower Tree Boulevard Introduction
The Flamboyant tree, known as the Golden Shower tree, blooms from May to June. In early summer, it is adorned with beautiful clusters of bright yellow flowers that sway in the wind. The flowers resemble sweet pea blossoms, with each flower shaped like a small yellow butterfly. The elongated flower clusters can reach about twenty centimeters in length, and as the petals fall with the wind, it creates a rain-like effect, which is why it is also called "Golden Rain." When the sunlight shines, it sparkles with golden brilliance, as the yellow flowers bloom beautifully against the blue sky.
Recommended flower viewing spots:
1. The section along the left bank of the Dongluo River from the Wufenche Railway Bridge to the Daimachiao Bridge (at the boundary of Erlin and Xiluo). The 1.5-kilometer riverside road on the left bank of the Dongluo River, from Daimachiao to the Wufenche Railway in Xiluo, features nearly 300 Flamboyant trees. Each year, from May to June, they enter their flowering period, with golden flower clusters hanging from the treetops. As the south wind blows, petals dance across the entire roadway, resembling a shower of golden rain, making it one of the hidden gems for flower viewing in Changhua.
