Taiwan Glove Museum Introduction
The world's largest glove is here! The Taiwan Glove Museum was established by Chen Yi-yi, chairman of Yih Chien Sports Goods Co., the last remaining manufacturer of hand-sewn sports gloves in Taiwan. It is located in the Sock Industry Park on She-Shih Road in Shetou Township, covering an area of 530 square meters. It is the world's only glove-themed exhibition hall, combining a museum, art gallery, and a comprehensive activity park for tourism. The museum showcases a variety of exhibits with the professionalism of a glove factory and introduces artistic creations akin to a glove art museum. Designed with the operational model of a tourist factory, it features both dynamic and static displays, along with DIY classrooms, learning rooms, and a children's play area. Additionally, there is a "Global Glove Exhibition Area" that sells gloves for various purposes and rare special gloves from Taiwan. The museum's treasure is the 5.8-meter-tall "World's Largest Glove," which is 256 times the size of a regular glove, hand-stitched with every needle and thread, claiming to be the largest in the world and set to break the current record of 2.5 meters in the United States.
Wow! Have I accidentally entered the land of giants? Upon stepping into the Glove Museum, what stands tall before me is a gigantic glove about two stories high. Don't underestimate it; this glove holds the Guinness World Record for the largest glove, entirely hand-stitched and taking over three months to complete. The design of the glove is changed periodically! Currently, this giant glove features a design inspired by the 2019 Tanaka Marathon. The founder of the Glove Museum, Mr. Chen Yi-yi, graduated from the Fujin Art and Design School and has always hoped to incorporate his creations into his family's products. Therefore, many designs, logos, and even the museum’s overall concept reflect his artistic vision.
