Taiwan Glove Museum Introduction
The world's largest glove is here! The Taiwan Glove Museum was established by Chen Yi-yi, chairman of Yih Chien Sports Goods Co., the last remaining manufacturer of stitched sports gloves in Taiwan. It is located in the sock industry park on Sheshi Road in Shengang Township, covering an area of 530 square meters. It is the only glove-themed museum in the world, combining a museum, an art gallery, and a comprehensive activity park for a tourist factory. The museum offers diversity typical of museums, the professionalism of a glove factory, and introduces artistic creations akin to a glove art museum. It operates under the model of a tourist factory, featuring both dynamic and static displays, as well as DIY classrooms, learning rooms, and children's play areas. There is also a "Global Glove Sales Area" showcasing various kinds of gloves and rare special gloves from Taiwan. The museum's treasure is the 5.8-meter tall "World's Largest Glove," which is 256 times the size of a regular glove, hand-stitched with every single stitch, and is claimed to be the largest in the world, potentially breaking the current record of 2.5 meters held in the United States.
Wow! Have I accidentally entered the land of giants? Upon stepping into the Glove Museum, what stands before me is a gigantic glove about two stories high. Don't underestimate it; this glove holds the Guinness World Record for the largest glove, created entirely through manual sewing, taking over three months to complete, and the design is periodically changed! The current design of this giant glove is inspired by the 2019 Tanaka Marathon. The founder of the Glove Museum, Mr. Chen Yi-yi, graduated from Fuxing Design Institute and has always hoped to incorporate his creations into his family’s products. Thus, many of the product designs, logos, and even the design of the Glove Museum itself reflect this artistic vision.
