Fangliao Railway Art Village Introduction
Fang-Liao F3 Cultural and Arts District is located next to Fang-Liao Train Station. It was initially formed by local cultural historians and a group of art enthusiasts who shared the dream of developing an arts village, establishing the "Fang-Liao Cultural Promotion Association." Using the number 3 warehouse at Fang-Liao Train Station as an exhibition center, various art performances are frequently held. After gaining recognition from the Taiwan Railway Administration, they gradually rented the station's idle spaces and converted them into art studios, laying the groundwork for today's F3 Cultural and Arts District. "F3" is an abbreviation for Fang-Liao's English name and the number 3 warehouse. Being adjacent to Fang-Liao Train Station provides it with an inherent transportation advantage. Upon exiting the train station and walking to the right, visitors can directly reach the outdoor performance plaza and the Industrial Culture Center for exploration. Currently, all outdoor performances and indoor exhibitions are held here. To the left of the train station is the main area of the arts village, which houses studios for resident artists and cultural art groups. This area features a platform and a large open grassland that serve as venues for performances and resting spots for visitors. Entering the arts village, one immediately feels a leisurely atmosphere, distinct from the bustling urban life. The surroundings are filled with lush trees and various intriguing installations, such as a wooden train made from driftwood, mosaic tile artworks, and animal-shaped mailboxes, all carefully crafted by artists. The arts village was transformed from old railway dormitories, with rows of houses lining the pathways, also serving as studios for resident artists. The exterior of these studios reflects the artists' specialties, and visitors are free to enter and explore, preparing for an artistic feast. Almost every weekend, the Fang-Liao F3 Cultural and Arts District hosts cultural events, such as artist talks, community group performances, static exhibitions, and art learning courses. Visiting the F3 Cultural and Arts District, tourists will inevitably fall in love with the charm emanating from the art.
