Fangliao Railway Art Village (Fangliao F3 Cultural and Creative Park) Introduction
Fangliao F3 Arts and Cultural District is located beside Fangliao Railway Station. It was originally established by local cultural and historical workers and a group of art enthusiasts who shared a vision for developing an arts village, together forming the Fangliao Lifestyle Cultural Promotion Association. Using the No. 3 warehouse of Fangliao Railway Station as an exhibition and performance center, they frequently hold various artistic events. After gaining recognition from the Taiwan Railways Administration, they gradually rented the station's vacant spaces and transformed them into art studios, laying the foundation for the current F3 Arts and Cultural District. "F3" is an abbreviation for Fangliao's English name and the No. 3 warehouse, benefiting from its proximity to Fangliao Railway Station, which provides inherent transportation advantages. Upon exiting the train station and turning right, visitors can directly reach the outdoor performance square and the Industrial Cultural Museum, where all outdoor performances and indoor exhibitions are held. To the left of the train station is the main area of the arts village, which also houses studios for resident artists and cultural art groups. Here, a platform and a large grassy area are available for events and visitors to relax. Entering the arts village, one immediately feels a leisurely atmosphere, distinct from the hustle and bustle of the city. The surrounding scenery includes lush trees and various interesting installation artworks, such as a train made from driftwood, mosaic tile paintings, and animal-shaped mailboxes, all carefully crafted by the artists. As the arts village is transformed from the old dormitories of Taiwan Railways, there are rows of houses along the alleyways, serving as studios for resident artists. The exterior of these studios often reflects the artists' specialties, allowing visitors to freely enter for a sneak peek at an art feast. The Fangliao F3 Arts and Cultural District organizes cultural activities almost every weekend, such as artist talks, community group performances, static exhibitions, and art learning courses. Visiting the F3 Arts and Cultural District, tourists will unconsciously fall in love with the charm radiated by art.
