Shuidiliao Historical Houses Cluster Introduction
Shuibilyao has been developed since the early Qing Dynasty, with families such as the Chen, Liang, and Zhao playing significant roles in its cultivation. The historical houses in the area were built by the ancestors of these families, dating back from the 1970s and 1980s to over a century ago. Through exploring these ancient houses, we can not only appreciate the richness of folk crafts but also uncover the historical context, natural conditions, cultural environment, social culture, building techniques, and material applications of the time. This allows the descendants who were born and raised here to understand how their ancestors established their homes amidst a landscape of wild weeds and desolation.
