Shuibilyao Old Houses Group Introduction
Shuibiyiao has been developed since the early Qing Dynasty, with families such as the Chen, Liang, and Zhao clans pioneering this area. The ancient house cluster was built by the ancestors of these families and dates back from the 1970s and 1980s to over a hundred years ago. Through the tour of the ancient houses, we can not only appreciate the richness of folk art but also uncover the historical context, natural conditions, cultural environment, social culture, construction methods, and material applications of that time. This allows the descendants who were born and raised here to understand how their ancestors established their home amidst a landscape of wild grass and weeds.
