Shuibi Lia Old House Cluster Introduction
Shuibinliao has been developed since the early Qing Dynasty, with families such as the Chen, Liang, and Zhao families pioneering this area. The ancient houses were built by the ancestors of these families and date back from the 1870s to over a century ago. Through the tour of the ancient houses, we can not only appreciate the richness of folk craftsmanship but also uncover the historical context, natural conditions, cultural environment, social culture, construction methods, and material applications of that time. This allows the descendants who were born and raised here to understand how their ancestors established their homes amid the wild and overgrown landscape.
