Tianlong Ancient Trail Introduction

The starting point of the Tianlong Ancient Road is at the Tianlong Suspension Bridge, with a total length of about 1.1 kilometers. Before the completion of the Southern Cross-Island Highway, the Tianlong Ancient Road was the only access road for residents of tribes such as Lidiao. Even today, it remains the only alternative access road besides the Southern Cross-Island Highway. The gorge area where the Tianlong Ancient Road is located is home to the "Taiwanese mountain forest prototype" of gorge rock vegetation ecology. Along the way, one can also see the endemic species of Taiwan, the "Tianlong Two-leaf Pine," making this ancient road rich in precious natural ecology and one of the famous hiking paths in the Southern Cross-Island region.
