Tianlong Ancient Trail Introduction

The Tianlong Ancient Trail starts at the Tianlong Suspension Bridge and is approximately 1.1 kilometers long. Before the Southern Cross-Island Highway was opened, the Tianlong Ancient Trail was the only access road for residents of the Lidao and other tribes. Even today, it remains the only alternative access road aside from the Southern Cross-Island Highway. The gorge area where the Tianlong Ancient Trail is located is rich in the "Prototype of Taiwan's Mountain Forest," featuring canyon rock vegetation ecology. Along the trail, one can also find the Taiwan endemic species "Tianlong Two-Leaf Pine," making it a precious natural ecological path and one of the famous hiking trails in the Southern Cross-Island area.
