Tianlong Ancient Trail Introduction

The Tianlong Ancient Trail starts at the Tianlong Suspension Bridge and has a total length of approximately 1.1 kilometers. Before the Southern Cross-Island Highway was opened, the Tianlong Ancient Trail was the only road connecting the inhabitants of villages such as Lidau to the outside world, and even today, it remains the only alternative route aside from the Southern Cross-Island Highway. The canyon area where the Tianlong Ancient Trail is located harbors an ecosystem of canyon rocky vegetation, which represents the "original prototype of Taiwan’s mountain forest." Along the trail, visitors can also see the Taiwan endemic species "Tianlong Two-leaved Pine," making it a precious natural ecological ancient trail and one of the famous hiking routes in the Southern Cross-Island area.
