Badawan Bay Introduction
Lanyu Island, located in the Pacific Ocean, is surrounded by the sea on all sides. The strikingly designed and colorful traditional fishing boats of the Tao people (also known as the Yami people) are moored on the beach of Bay of Eight Generations, creating a beautiful scene. This is one of the most representative landscapes of Lanyu, especially when the boats lie quietly on the beach at sunset, making it a favorite spot for tourists and photographers. The Bay of Eight Generations features the longest beach in western Lanyu, stretching approximately 1,500 meters from the fishing village by the sea to Hongtou Village. The Hongtou River in Lanyu flows into the Pacific Ocean at the Bay of Eight Generations, resulting in a rich fishery yield and a wide variety of corals, which are critical to the livelihoods of the residents of Hongtou Village. The Bay of Eight Generations is also an excellent snorkeling spot for viewing the underwater ecological world. More travel tips for Lanyu.
