Badawan Bay Introduction
Lanyu Island, located in the Pacific Ocean, is surrounded by water on all sides. The traditional flying fish boats of the Tao people (Yami people), with their streamlined shapes and vibrant colors, are docked at the beach of Bay of Eight Generations, forming a beautiful picture. This is one of the most representative landscapes of Lanyu, especially the sight of the boats quietly resting on the beach at sunset, which is a favorite among tourists and photographers alike. The Bay of Eight Generations boasts the longest beach on the western side of Lanyu, approximately 1,500 meters long, extending from the fishing village by the sea to Hongtou Village. The Hongtou Creek on Lanyu flows into the Pacific Ocean at the Bay of Eight Generations, resulting in a rich catch of seafood and a diverse array of coral species, which are the main economic source for the residents of Hongtou Village. Additionally, the Bay of Eight Generations is an excellent snorkeling spot to observe the underwater ecological world. More travel tips for Lanyu.
