Old Lanyu Lighthouse Introduction
The Old Lanyu Lighthouse is located by Kaiyuan Port, and visitors can quickly spot it by looking around after disembarking. Standing on a small hill by the port, it resembles a landscaped garden from a distance. Ascending the recently renovated path, visitors can reach the lighthouse in just under two minutes. Although the hill is not very tall, the view from the top offers a panoramic view of Kaiyuan Port and the azure waters of Lanyu. After the new lighthouse was built, the old lighthouse was left abandoned for a while, with the path unmaintained and no guardrails around it. However, as more and more visitors discovered the beauty of the location and it gradually became a popular photo spot, new guardrails were added, and the lighthouse was repainted. It is an ideal place for visitors, whether just arriving or about to leave Lanyu, to capture a memory. While it might not be very noticeable from the ground, the water in Kaiyuan Port is as clear as anywhere else on Lanyu.
