Old Lanyu Lighthouse Introduction
The Old Orchid Island Lighthouse is located by Kaiyuan Harbor. After disembarking, visitors just need to look around to quickly spot it. Standing atop a small hill by the harbor, it seems like a garden landscape from a distance. By following the recently renovated trail and climbing the steps, one can reach the lighthouse in less than two minutes. Although this small hill is not very high, the view from the top offers a panoramic view of Kaiyuan Harbor and the blue waters surrounding Orchid Island. After the new lighthouse was built, the old lighthouse was actually abandoned for quite some time, with the trail left unmaintained and no guardrails around the lighthouse. However, as more and more visitors discovered the beauty of this place, it gradually became a popular photo spot, leading to the installation of new guardrails and the lighthouse being repainted. Whether arriving or departing from Orchid Island, this spot is perfect for a memorable photo. While it may not be very noticeable from the ground, the water in Kaiyuan Harbor is just as clear as anywhere else on Orchid Island.
