Old Lanyu Lighthouse Introduction
The Old Lanyu Lighthouse is located by Kaiyuan Harbor, and visitors can easily spot it after disembarking. Standing on a small hill by the harbor, it resembles a garden landscape from a distance. Ascending along the recently renovated path takes only about two minutes to reach the base of the lighthouse. Although this small hill isn't very high, the view from the top offers a panoramic view of Kaiyuan Harbor and the blue waters of Lanyu. After the new lighthouse was built, the old one was left neglected for some time, with the path unmaintained and no guardrails around it. However, as more and more tourists discovered its beauty, it gradually became a popular photo spot. New guardrails were added, and the lighthouse was repainted. This location is ideal for visitors to take a keepsake photo, whether they are just arriving or departing from Lanyu. While it might not be very noticeable from ground level, the water in Kaiyuan Harbor is as clear as any spot on Lanyu. Just a short walk up to a higher vantage point reveals the clarity of the water, even allowing glimpses of the rocks at the harbor's bottom, where children often play and splash.
