Old Lanyu Lighthouse Introduction
The Old Lanyu Lighthouse is located by Kaiyuan Harbor. After disembarking, visitors just need to look around to quickly spot it. Perched on a small hill by the harbor, it appears to be a garden landscape from a distance. Following the recently renovated path, one can reach the lighthouse in just under two minutes. Although the hill is not very tall, the elevated position offers a panoramic view of Kaiyuan Harbor and the azure waters of Lanyu. After the new lighthouse was built, the old one was abandoned for quite some time, with the path unmaintained and no railing around the lighthouse. However, as more tourists discovered the beauty of this place, it gradually became a popular photo spot, leading to the installation of new railings and a fresh coat of paint for the lighthouse. Whether arriving or departing from Lanyu, it's a great place for visitors to take a memorable photo. From the ground, it might not be obvious, but the waters in Kaiyuan Harbor are as clear as anywhere in Lanyu. Just a few steps up to a higher point make it clear; one can even faintly see the rocks at the bottom of the harbor, where children often play and splash in the water.
