Xinhua Village Introduction
Xinhua Village is a Paiwan tribal community that stands out for its promotion of the cultivation and collection of indigenous herbal plants. Through the operation of a herbal production and marketing group, herbs are systematically cultivated and gathered, with over a hundred different types being collected here. The group also develops processed herbal products, enhancing the economic income of the village. The mountainous areas around Xinhua are home to the rare Taiwan fir trees, with the largest number found in the whole of Taiwan. By making a reservation in advance, you can have a local guide take you to see the world's largest Taiwan fir, ensuring that your visit is worthwhile. When visiting Xinhua Village, you can also explore the Kazdas Cultural and Artistic Studio, which is the workshop of the renowned indigenous woodcarver Lin Hsin-yi. Lin's works exhibit a delicate craftsmanship beneath the solid woodcarving base, reflecting a unique style that embodies the rugged and free-spirited essence of indigenous culture.
