Hsiangyang Woodworking Workshop Introduction
Xiangyang Cultural Workshop (Adi Dan Cultural Story Museum) is located in Duoliang Village, Taitung County, above the most beautiful station in Taiwan - Duoliang Station. It is transformed from an abandoned school building after the closure of Duoliang Elementary School. The Paiwan people traditionally refer to themselves as "Adi Dan," meaning "friends of the land." They see all living beings in nature as being on the same level as humans, respecting every creature and making good use of every natural resource. The hierarchical society of the Paiwan people is also one of the earliest forms of social enterprise in Taiwan, akin to the spirit of Xiangyang Cultural Workshop, which aims to accompany the development of local industries and help the children of the homeland find their way back home. The museum primarily presents the traditional cultural wisdom of the Paiwan people and the social enterprise spirit of Xiangyang Cultural Workshop, showcasing the use of wooden household items and local handicrafts. The surrounding area, combined with Jinfeng Hot Springs, Duoliang Station, and Dawu Mountain Ecological Education Center, makes it the best cultural tourism destination along the Southern Cross-Island Highway.
