Xiangyang Woodworking Workshop Introduction
Xiangyang Xinchuan Wood Workshop (Adidan Cultural Story Museum) is located in Duolan Village, Taitung County, above the most beautiful train station in Taiwan - Duolan Station. It has been transformed from an abandoned school building after the closure of Duolan Elementary School. The Paiwan people's ancient self-reference is "Adidan," meaning "friends of the land." They view all living beings in nature as equals to humans, respecting every creature and making good use of every natural resource. The hierarchical society of the Paiwan is one of the earliest social enterprise models in Taiwan. This spirit is reflected in the Xiangyang Xinchuan Wood Workshop, which aims to accompany the development of local industries and help the children of the homeland find their way back home. The museum mainly showcases the traditional cultural wisdom of the Paiwan people and the social enterprise spirit of the Xiangyang Xinchuan Wood Workshop, displaying the use of wooden household items and local handcrafts. The surrounding area combines with Jinfeng Hot Springs, Duolan Station, and Dawu Mountain Ecological Education Center, making it the best cultural tourism destination along the South Link Highway.
