Qixingtan Scenic Area Introduction
Qixingtan is the only county-level scenic area in Hualien County. At first glance, it may seem like a star-shaped lake formation, but upon arriving at Qixingtan, one is surely enchanted by its crescent-shaped bay. Also known as Crescent Bay, Qixingtan is a deep blue pebble beach bay, where the end of the bay is framed by the towering Central Mountain Range, creating a picturesque scene that captivates many. Located at the northeast corner of Xincheng Township, Qixingtan is not only mesmerizing for its arc-shaped bay but also for its clean, azure waters where pebbles can be clearly seen amidst the waves. Originally a tranquil fishing village, it boasts a unique natural environment along with simple sightseeing trails, seaside pavilions, the Sun and Moon Pavilion, and Star Viewing Square, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the blue sea and sky. At night, the beach, free from light pollution, is the perfect choice for stargazing, moon watching, or simply enjoying the sounds of the pebbles and the waves.
