Qixingtan Scenic Area Introduction
Qixingtan is the only county-level scenic area in Hualien County. At first glance, it may seem like a star-shaped lake, but upon arriving at Qixingtan, visitors are surely captivated by its crescent-shaped bay. Also known as Crescent Bay, Qixingtan is a stunning blue gravel beach, with towering mountains of the Central Mountain Range at the end of the bay. The breathtaking view where the mountains meet the sea has enchanted countless people. Located at the northeastern coast of Xincheng Township, Qixingtan not only mesmerizes with its curved bay but also features crystal-clear blue waters, where the pebbles in the waves can be clearly seen. Originally a calm little fishing village, it boasts a unique natural environment, complemented by simple scenic walkways, seaside pavilions, the Sun and Moon Pavilion, and the Stargazing Square, all allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the blue skies and azure sea. At night, the beach free from light pollution is the perfect spot for stargazing, moon watching, or simply enjoying the sounds of pebbles and ocean waves.
