Qixingtan Scenic Area Introduction
Qixing Tan is the only county-level scenic area in Hualien County. At first glance, it may seem like a star-shaped lake, but upon arriving at Qixing Tan, visitors are sure to be captivated by the crescent-shaped bay. Also known as Crescent Bay, Qixing Tan is a stunning blue pebble beach, with the end of the bay bordered by the towering Central Mountain Range. The sight of mountains meeting the sea has mesmerized countless people. Located at the northeastern corner of Xincheng Township, Qixing Tan features not only a mesmerizing curved bay but also clear blue waters, where the pebbles can be seen amidst the waves. Originally a tranquil fishing village, it boasts a unique natural geographical environment, as well as simple viewing trails, pavilions by the sea, the Sun and Moon Viewing Pavilion, and the Star Gazing Square, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the azure skies and blue sea. At night, the beach, free from light pollution, is the perfect choice for stargazing, moon watching, or simply listening to the melody of pebbles and sea waves.
