Qixingtan Scenic Area Introduction

Qixingtan is the only county-level scenic area in Hualien County. At first glance, it may seem like a star-shaped lake, but upon arriving at Qixingtan, visitors are often enchanted by its crescent-shaped bay. Known also as Crescent Bay, Qixingtan is a deep blue gravel bay, with the towering Central Mountain Range at its end, creating a stunning scene where mountains meet the sea that has captivated many. Located at the northeastern corner of Xincheng Township, the allure of Qixingtan lies not only in its curved bay but also in its clear, azure waters where pebbles are visible amidst the rolling waves. Originally a quiet fishing village, its unique natural geography, along with simple scenic pathways, seaside pavilions, the Sun and Moon Pavilion, and the Star Gazing Square, allow visitors to fully immerse themselves in the blue sea and sky. The beach at night, free from light pollution, is the best choice for stargazing, moon watching, or simply enjoying the sound of the pebbles and waves singing.
