Qixing Cobia Museum Introduction
The Dried Fish Museum, located next to Qixing Tan, is a restored site that was once a traditional dried fish workshop. In the past, the Qixing Tan area was abundant in skipjack tuna, making this museum the first local museum in Taiwan to document the dried fish production industry. Upon entering the historically preserved space, visitors are greeted by the wafting smoke and aroma of smoked fish, with the charred, mottled roasting room evoking nostalgic memories of the past flavors. The museum features areas for fish processing, exhibitions on the history of dried fish, and a DIY experience zone, restoring the original appearance of the dried fish factory, showcasing the ecology of Qixing Tan, and detailing the dried fish production process. The original smoking room has been designed and renovated to highlight cultural exploration, providing an overview of the dried fish production process, fixed-net fishing, and marine ecology. Additionally, there are numerous dried fish specialties and culinary delights available, making it a great place to get acquainted with dried fish.
