He shan Pomelo Tourist Orchard Introduction

Heugang Village is located on the hillside on the eastern side of Ruysui Township in Hualien County, with a distant view across the Fu Yuan River toward the streets of Ruysui. From the central area of Ruysui, heading east past the Ruigang Bridge and along the industrial road upward, you will see gently sloping hills filled with pomelo trees. Most of these trees are over 20 years old. The harvesting season for pomelos begins around the time of the White Dew solar term in the seventh month of the lunar calendar. The Ruysui Heugang area has over 600 hectares of pomelo orchards, producing about 20 million pomelos annually, and in recent years, it has become a well-known quality agricultural product in the Hualien area. Previously, Heugang was famous for its black tea, but due to changes in market conditions, local farmers began experimenting with pomelo cultivation. After years of nurturing and improvement, the juicy, flavorful, and fragrant "Heugang Pomelo" has successfully expanded to the national market, creating a new reputation for agricultural products in the Heugang area. To cater to the trend of tourism, the orchards in Heugang have also begun to develop in the direction of tourism. During the pomelo harvesting season, the orchards open their gates to the public for pomelo picking, which not only reduces labor costs for farmers but also allows people to experience the joy of fruit picking in the countryside. Visitors can enjoy the freshest Heugang pomelos and take some home as gifts for friends and family.
