Liwan Recreation Area Introduction
Li Bay is a natural cove shaped like a crescent moon, serving as an early port for offshore operations in Qimei. Today, only a small area of the simple Li Port remains on the southern side. Along the coastal road, after passing the radar station and a winding slope, you can see the crescent-shaped bay. The surrounding hexagonal basalt formations are well-developed, spectacular, and varied, with coastal erosion features visible everywhere. The geology here is primarily basalt, and the beach is formed from accumulations of white coral fragments, creating a striking contrast between the dark basalt and the white coral sand. The Li Bay swimming area is the only recreational area in Qimei, and because Qimei Island is an industrial-free island, the water is clean and clear, with dense coral and rich, diverse marine ecology. The shallow water level makes it relatively safe, and many tourists come here to experience snorkeling, guided by professional instructors to observe the underwater ecology up close, where you can see tropical fish freely swimming among the dense corals—a must-try experience when visiting! 【Recommended stay time】 1 hour.
A vast and tranquil sea area, ideal for snorkeling.
