Liwan Recreation Area Introduction
Koi Bay is a natural small bay shaped like a crescent moon, which was an early port for offshore operations in Qimei. Now, only a small and simple Koi Port remains on the southern side. Along the coastal road, after passing the radar station, one can see the crescent-shaped bay at the sloping bend. The surrounding basalt topography is well-developed, spectacular, and varied, with coastal erosion formations visible everywhere. The geology here is primarily basalt, and the beach is formed by the accumulation of white coral debris, creating a striking contrast between the dark basalt and the white coral sand beach. The Koi Bay swimming area is the only water recreation area on Qimei Island. Due to Qimei Island being an industrial-free island, the water quality is clean and clear, with dense corals, hosting rich and diverse marine ecology. The shallow water level makes it comparatively safe, and many visitors come here to experience snorkeling, guided by professional instructors to observe the underwater ecosystem. One can see tropical fish swimming freely among the dense corals up close, making it a must-try experience when visiting. 【Recommended stay time】 1 hour.
