Liwan Recreation Area Introduction
Liwan is a natural cove with a crescent shape, serving as a port for early coastal operations in Qimei. Today, only a small area of the simple Li Port remains on the southern side. Along the coastal road, after passing the radar station, you can see the crescent-shaped bay at the curve of the slope. The surrounding basalt terrain is well-developed, spectacular, and diverse, with coastal erosion topography visible everywhere. The geology here mainly consists of basalt, while the beach is formed by the accumulation of white coral fragments, creating a striking contrast between the dark basalt and the white sandy beach made of coral debris. The Liwan swimming area is the only swimming zone in Qimei, and since Qimei Island is an industrial-free island, the water quality is clean and clear, with dense coral and a rich, diverse marine ecosystem. Due to the shallow water level, it is relatively safe, and many tourists come here to experience snorkeling, guided by professional instructors to observe the underwater ecology, allowing for close encounters with tropical fish swimming freely among the dense corals, making it a must-try experience when visiting here. 【Recommended stay time】 1 hour.
