Dashi Longcheng Scenic Area Introduction
The Dashi Longcheng Scenic Area is located at the seaside edge of the Shan Ding settlement in Zhonghe Village. The Qimei coastline features spectacular volcanic rock formations, with a continuous coastline of columnar basalt cliffs. The "Dashi" within the scenic area resembles a giant basalt rock resembling a crouching lion in the sea, which is a result of radial columnar basalt shaped by erosion. Next to the stone lion is another remarkable sight, a piece formed from volcanic breccia with obvious folds, and due to compression, it displays clear bending structures, resembling a giant dragon twisting and turning on the sea surface, hence the name "Longcheng." On this eroded platform, there are various sizes of tofu rocks and over a hundred pits of different sizes, making it one of the largest and most orderly clusters of pits in Penghu. There is a viewing platform where you can look right at the stone lion and left at Longcheng, allowing you to appreciate the dynamic geological landscape. Next to the Dashi Scenic Area, there are several vendors and grocery stores selling ice products and local specialties. By following the alley behind, you can view the stone lion from various angles. There is also a platform accessible by stairs for a closer view of the stone lion and Longcheng. 【Recommended Stay Time】 0.5 hours
