Nai'an Village Tagong Stupa Introduction
Located in the northwest of Neian Village, near Beigang. Formerly known as Neiqian, due to its low-lying terrain, it is surrounded by slopes on the north, east, and south, while facing the ocean on the west, creating a break. About one nautical mile west from Beigang, there are reefs known as Haisai Reef, and the land north of the reef is commonly referred to as "Huangzaiwei"; between Haisai Reef and Huangzaiwei, a trench forms like an arrow, directing towards the Neiqian settlement. According to ancestral legends, the early residents were often struck by iron arrows and suffered disasters, making it difficult for them to settle and thrive; they then sought the help of a geomancy expert from Tangshan, who after surveying the area, advised them to quickly build towers and walls for safety, and the residents believed it. During the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty (1843), the prominent family Lü Lun initiated the construction by gathering strong young men from the settlement to work together in transporting stones to build two towers—Tatung and Tapo—at "Huaizai." Using Tatung as a base, they extended a city wall approximately 150 meters to the north and built a southern wall to Tapo, also about 150 meters long. The height of Tatung is one meter, and Tapo is four feet tall. The city walls are about two meters high and one meter wide. As of this year (1995), it has a history of 152 years. 【Suggested duration:】 0.5 hours.
