Niu Xin Mountain (Niu Xin Bay) Introduction
Niu Xin Mountain, known as "Devil Mountain," has two coastal roads leading to it: one from Daguaye to Chimaa and the other from Neian to the coast. The coastal road offers beautiful scenery along the way, starting from Hengjiao Village to Neian Elementary School's coastline. Niu Xin Mountain is a land-tied island formed by the weathering of columnar basalt and is a serene place during the summer when cattle and sheep are grazed. Located on the southeastern side of Xiyu, it lies on the coastal road between Chimaa Village and Neian Village, marking the boundary between the two. Niu Xin Mountain is originally a small land-tied island, shaped like a cow's heart due to the cooling of volcanic lava forming a basaltic tableland, which, after long periods of coastal erosion and weathering, gives it its unique hilltop appearance. Surrounding the peak are silver acacia and various grasses, and in the summer, clusters of Tien Ren Ju (a type of flower) bloom, revealing the basalt columns at the peak. The bay below is known as Niu Xin Bay, featuring a wave-cut platform and beautiful stone traps, making it one of the renowned scenic bays in Penghu. This area was once the cemetery of Chimaa Village, and there is a military base nearby, so visitors are advised to be cautious and attentive during their visit. [Suggested duration: 0.5 hours]
