Wishing Husband Rock Introduction
Wangfu Rock is a large reef that extends into the sea, located at the base of the basalt rock formations southeast of the Qimei Lighthouse. Due to erosion by seawater, it resembles a pregnant woman lying on the surface of the sea, hence the common name Wangfu Rock. There is a poignant legend associated with Wangfu Rock: on the island, there was a loving couple. The husband went fishing at sea and tragically did not return. The wife, pregnant and desperate, jumped into the sea. After many years, the rocks by the seaside miraculously formed a rock resembling a pregnant woman, thereby gaining its name. Visitors can sit in a pavilion by the shore to overlook the entire view of Wangfu Rock, or walk down the stone bridge into the sea to step onto the island of Wangfu Rock, where they can gaze at the southernmost Qimei Lighthouse and the majestic columnar basalt coastline of Penghu. There are many small pools in the intertidal zone next to Wangfu Rock; during low tide, one can walk into these pools and see a variety of marine life, such as tropical fish, sea cucumbers, and crabs, making it seem like a small outdoor aquarium. 【Recommended visit duration】 0.5 hours
