Wangfu Stone Introduction
Wangfu Rock is a giant reef that extends into the sea, located on the basalt rocks southeast of Qimei Lighthouse. It is named for its shape, resembling a pregnant woman lying on the surface of the sea, which was formed by erosion from the seawater. There is a poignant legend associated with Wangfu Rock: a loving couple lived on the island, but the husband met with an accident while fishing at sea and never returned. In despair, the pregnant wife plunged into the ocean. After many years, the rocks by the sea miraculously formed into a stone resembling a pregnant woman, hence the name. Visitors can sit in a pavilion by the shore to get a panoramic view of Wangfu Rock or walk along the stone bridge to the rock island, offering a distant view of the southernmost Qimei Lighthouse and the majestic columnar basalt coastline of Penghu. The intertidal zone near Wangfu Rock has many small pools, and during low tide, one can explore these pools and observe a variety of marine life, such as tropical fish, sea cucumbers, and crabs, resembling a small outdoor aquarium. 【Recommended stay time】 0.5 hours
