Wangfu Rock Introduction
Wangfu Rock is a gigantic reef that extends into the sea, located at the basalt rock formations on the seaside southeast of Qimei Lighthouse. Due to erosion by seawater, it resembles a pregnant woman lying on the surface of the sea, which is the origin of its nickname Wangfu Rock. There is a tragic legend associated with Wangfu Rock; the island once had a loving couple, but the husband faced an accident while fishing at sea and did not return. The wife, who was heavily pregnant, threw herself into the sea, and over the years, the miraculous formation of rocks at the beach took on the shape of a pregnant woman, thus giving it its name. Visitors can sit in the pavilion on the shore to have a panoramic view of Wangfu Rock, or walk along the stone bridge down to the sea and step onto the rock island to gaze at the southernmost Qimei Lighthouse in Penghu and the magnificent columnar basalt coastline. The tidal zone next to Wangfu Rock has many small pools, and during low tide, one can walk into these pools to see various marine life, such as tropical fish, sea cucumbers, and crabs, resembling a small outdoor aquarium. 【Recommended stay duration】 0.5 hours
