Wangfu Stone Introduction
Wangfu Rock is a giant reef that extends into the sea, located on the basalt formations at the southeastern shore of Qimei Lighthouse. It is commonly known as Wangfu Rock because, after being eroded by seawater, it resembles a pregnant woman lying on the sea surface. There is a poignant legend about Wangfu Rock: on the island, there was a loving couple whose husband faced misfortune and did not return after going out to sea for fishing. The wife, pregnant, threw herself into the sea. After many years, a miraculous rock resembling a pregnant woman formed at the seaside, giving it the name. Visitors can sit in the pavilions along the shore to overlook the panoramic view of Wangfu Rock, or walk down the stone bridge to the island itself to gaze at Qimei Lighthouse at the southern tip of Penghu and the majestic columnar basalt coastline. In the tidal zone near Wangfu Rock, there are many small pools. During low tide, one can enter the pools to observe various marine creatures such as tropical fish, sea cucumbers, and crabs, resembling a small outdoor aquarium. 【Recommended Stay Duration】 0.5 hours
