Hsinchu Shuisian Temple Introduction

Shuixian Zunwang is one of the sea gods in Chinese mythology. The worship of Shuixian Zunwang includes figures such as Dayu, Xiang Yu, Qu Yuan, Wu Zixu, Li Bai, and Wang Bo. The main deity worshipped in Shuixian Temple is Shuixian Zunwang, specifically Dayu, who was originally enshrined in the rear hall of Changhe Temple. Due to the increasing population in the Beimen area, Shuixian Temple, dedicated to the maritime deity, was built on the left side of Changhe Temple in 1863. The tenth day of the tenth month of the lunar calendar is celebrated as the birthday of Shuixian Zunwang and is the most important festival of Shuixian Temple.
