Hsinchu Shuisian Temple Introduction

Shui Xian Zun Wang is one of the sea gods in Chinese tradition, worshipped in various places alongside figures such as Da Yu, Xiang Yu, Qu Yuan, Wu Zixu, Li Bai, and Wang Bo. The main deity enshrined in Shui Xian Palace is Da Yu, originally worshipped in the back hall of Chang He Palace. Due to the growing population in the North Gate area, Shui Xian Palace, dedicated to the sea god, was constructed on the left side of Chang He Palace in 1863. The tenth day of the tenth lunar month is celebrated as the birthday of Shui Xian Zun Wang, marking the most important festival of Shui Xian Palace.
