Hsinchu City Hall (Hsinchu City Art Museum and Development Center) Introduction

During the Japanese colonial period, Taiwan implemented the township system. Hsinchu City established the Hsinchu Street Office in 1920, which was upgraded to Hsinchu City Hall in 1930, serving as an office building. The City Hall is equivalent to today's municipal office. After the war, the Hsinchu City Hall was used as the headquarters for the Kuomintang. This two-story red brick building can be considered a typical style among the existing city halls.
