Hsinchu City Hall (Hsinchu City Art Museum and Development Museum) Introduction
During the Japanese colonial period, Taiwan implemented a system of urban and rural administration. In 1920, Hsinchu City established the Hsinchu Street Office, which was upgraded to the Hsinchu City Office in 1930, serving as the office building. The City Office is equivalent to what is now known as the city council. After the war, the Hsinchu City Office was used as the headquarters for the Kuomintang (KMT). This two-story red brick building is considered a typical example among the existing city offices.
