Hsinchu City Hall (Hsinchu City Art Museum and Development Museum) Introduction
During the Japanese colonial period, Taiwan implemented a town and village system. The Hsinchu City Office was established in 1920, and upgraded to the Hsinchu City Hall in 1930 for office use, which is equivalent to today's city government. After the war, the Hsinchu City Hall was used as the headquarters of the Kuomintang. This two-story red brick building can be considered a typical example among the existing city halls.
