Located near the Ying Stone Pavilion along the Sun Long Trail, this area was once a light railway (coal railway) used to transport coal from the nearby Wuyih Coal Mine No. 2, which has been closed for many years. The small tunnel on this light railway segment was originally part of a sharp bend that was straightened for safety reasons, resulting in the excavation of this small tunnel. The No. 2 tunnel is the only small tunnel in the Yingge Mountain area, measuring only about ten meters in length and five meters in width, making it a rare mini tunnel that often attracts curiosity from hikers who want to view or take photos as keepsakes.

Erkeng Tunnel Introduction

In New Taipei City, there are a total of eighteen planned mountain trails in Yingge District, which are suitable for mountain hiking enthusiasts. The Er-Keng Tunnel is located near the Ying-Shih Pavilion on the Sun-Long Trail. It used to be a narrow-gauge railway (coal transport railway) used for transporting coal from the nearby long-closed Wu-Yi Coal Mine Er-Keng. This small tunnel, situated on a section of the narrow-gauge railway that originally had a larger bend, was straightened for safety reasons by the relevant authorities. Since the Er-Keng Tunnel is the only small tunnel in the Yingge Mountain area, measuring only about ten meters in length and five meters in width, it is a relatively rare mini tunnel, often attracting curiosity from hikers who come to watch or take photos.
