Situated near the Ying Stone Pavilion along the Sun Long Trail, this area was once a narrow gauge railway (coal transport railway) used to transport coal from the nearby Wuyi Coal Mine No. 2, which has been closed for many years. The section of the narrow gauge railway where this small tunnel is located originally had a sharper curve. To ensure safety, the relevant authorities straightened the curve and excavated this small tunnel. As the No. 2 Tunnel is the only small tunnel in the Yingge Mountain area, it is about ten meters long and only five meters wide, making it a relatively rare mini tunnel that often piques the curiosity of hikers who may stop to view or take photos.

Erkeng Tunnel Introduction

The mountainous trails planned in Yingge District, New Taipei City, include a total of eighteen paths, suitable for hiking enthusiasts. The Er-Keng Tunnel is located near the Ying-Shih Pavilion along the Sun-Long Trail, and was once a light railway (coal transport railway) for transporting coal from the nearby Wu-Yi Coal Mine, which has been closed for many years. This small tunnel was originally part of a section of the light railway with a sharp bend. Later, concerned about safety, the relevant authorities straightened the pathway by digging this small tunnel. As the only small tunnel in the Yingge Mountain area, the Er-Keng Tunnel is only about ten meters long and five meters wide, making it a relatively rare mini tunnel that often arouses curiosity among hikers who come to view or take photos.
