Wang Yang Ju Ancient House Introduction
Located on Wenhua Road in Yingge District, this brick street house was built during the Japanese colonial period, approximately eighty or ninety years ago. It features a three-bay, two-story structure. The arcade and the brick façade of the second floor are adorned with Baroque-style decorations, showcasing significant artistic value. The preservation condition is quite good, retaining features from its past operation as a rice granary and a money exchange shop, thus witnessing the commercial history of Yingge. The surrounding area has seen an increase in buildings, while opposite lies the railway area of the Zhe railway station, which is fenced off. The second-floor façade showcases a Western-style arcade with Baroque decorations. The architecture is elegant and spacious, sturdy yet aesthetically pleasing. This three-bay brick street house consists of two levels: the ground floor serves as a storefront while the upper floor is a living space, connected by a wooden staircase. The front features an arcade that links the second-floor façade and follows the Baroque architectural style.
