Bat Cave Park Introduction
Bats Cave Park, located in Ruifang District, New Taipei City, is situated near the coastal highway's seaside tunnel (at the 75K point of Provincial Highway 2). The park features a pavilion and a parking lot, as well as an observation platform for bat watching, available for visitors in the evening. The park can be accessed via community roads (formerly a railway line that was dismantled) leading to the seaside community. The road was originally an old railway, and remnants of Haibin Station can still be found, offering visitors a glimpse into its past prosperity. It is also known as the largest bat colony cave in Taiwan. Each year, from May to June, bats begin to visit this cave, with numbers reaching up to several hundred thousand, primarily consisting of female bats gathering here to reproduce. After the young bats grow up in August and September, they leave and return the following year. This park features many bat-themed facilities, and there is a viewing platform near the bat cave, making it convenient for visitors to observe the bat ecology.
