Bat Cave Park Introduction
The Bat Cave Park, located in the Ruifang District of New Taipei City, is adjacent to the coastal highway's seaside tunnel (at the 75K point of Taiwan Route 2). It features gazebos and parking lots, as well as a bat viewing platform for visitors to enjoy bat watching in the evening. The park can be accessed via community roads (originally a railway line that was dismantled), leading to the seaside community. The road was once part of an old railway, and remnants of the Haibin Station still exist for visitors to explore the prosperous past. It is also known to be the largest bat colony cave in Taiwan. Each year, in May and June, bats arrive at this cave, with numbers reaching hundreds of thousands. The bats that come here are female, gathering to reproduce. By August and September, the young bats grow and leave, returning the following year. The park features many bat-themed installations and has a viewing platform near the bat cave, making it convenient for visitors to observe the bat ecology.
