Bat Cave Park Introduction
Bat Cave Park, located in Ruifang District, New Taipei City, is situated near the seaside tunnel of the Coastal Highway (Taiwan Route 2, 75K). It features pavilions and a parking lot, along with a bat-watching platform for tourists in the evening. The park can be accessed via community roads (the dismantled railway of the Lian Dong branch) leading to the seaside community, where remnants of Hai Bin Station still exist for visitors to explore the past prosperity. It is currently the largest known bat colony cave in Taiwan. Each year, in May and June, bats begin to visit this cave, with numbers reaching hundreds of thousands, primarily consisting of female bats gathering to reproduce. After the young bats grow up and leave in August and September, they return the following year. This park includes numerous bat-themed facilities and has an observation deck close to the bat cave, allowing visitors to watch bat ecology conveniently.
