Li Mei-shu Memorial Gallery Introduction
Located in the Sanxia District of New Taipei City, it was established in April 1995 as a memorial hall dedicated to Taiwanese painter Li Meishu and showcasing his works. The memorial hall houses Li Meishu's masterpieces and various cultural relics from his life. Professor Li aimed to present the beauty of Taiwan’s rural landscape in his creations, adopting a realistic painting style. His beloved landscape paintings of Sanxia embody his artistic philosophy of "wind, earth, people, and emotions." Some of his works are uniquely styled, such as "The Boy Teasing the Turkey," which employs 3D techniques and bears similarities to the world-famous painting "Mona Lisa." Master Li Meishu loved his hometown of Sanxia and dedicated much of his life to constructing the Zushi Temple, making it one of the most meticulously crafted temples in Taiwan. One of the guides in the memorial hall is Master Li Meishu's son, who himself appears in some of the paintings, adding an interesting and imaginative touch as visitors listen to the stories behind the artwork.
