Li Mei-shu Memorial Gallery Introduction
Located in the Sanxia District of New Taipei City, the museum was established in April 1995 to commemorate Taiwanese painter Li Meishu and exhibit his works. The museum houses Li Meishu's masterpieces and various cultural artifacts. Professor Li's creative focus is primarily on presenting the beauty of Taiwan's countryside, with a realistic painting style. His beloved Sanxia landscape paintings are filled with his emphasized artistic concepts of "wind, earth, people, and emotions." However, some of his works, such as "The Boy Teasing the Turkey," showcase a unique style using 3D techniques, reminiscent of the world-famous painting "Mona Lisa." Master Li Meishu cherished his hometown Sanxia, dedicating many years to the construction of the Master Zhang Temple, which has become Taiwan's longest-lasting and most intricately crafted temple. One of the guides in the museum is Master Li Meishu's son, who is also a character appearing in his father's paintings, adding an element of fun and imaginative space to the explanations provided by the figure in the artwork.
