Li Mei-shu Memorial Hall Introduction
Located in the Sanxia District of New Taipei City, the Li Mei-shu Memorial Gallery was established in April 1995 to commemorate Taiwanese painter Li Mei-shu and showcase his works. The gallery houses a collection of Li's masterpieces and various artifacts from his life. Professor Li's creative work primarily aims to present the beauty of Taiwan's countryside, adopting a realistic style. His most cherished landscape paintings of Sanxia embody his artistic philosophy emphasizing "wind, earth, people, and emotions." Some of his works display unique styles; for instance, "The Boy Teasing the Turkey" employs 3D techniques, reminiscent of the renowned painting "Mona Lisa." Master Li had a profound love for his hometown of Sanxia and dedicated much of his life to constructing the Zushhuang Temple, making it one of the longest-standing and most meticulously crafted temples in Taiwan. One of the tour guides at the memorial is Master Li's son, who is also featured in the paintings, adding a layer of interest and imagination as visitors listen to the stories behind the artwork.
