Li Mei-shu Memorial Gallery Introduction
Located in the Sanxia District of New Taipei City, it was established in April 1995 as a memorial hall dedicated to Taiwanese painter Li Meishu and showcasing his works. The hall houses the masterpieces and various artifacts of Mr. Li Meishu's life. His artistic creation primarily aims to present the beauty of Taiwan's local culture, with a realistic painting style, and he was deeply fond of landscapes of Sanxia, filled with his emphasized artistic concept of "wind, earth, people, and emotions." Some of his works, however, exhibit a unique style, such as "A Boy Teasing a Turkey," which employs 3D techniques and bears similarities to the world-famous painting "Mona Lisa." Master Li Meishu loved his hometown of Sanxia, dedicating half of his life to the construction of the Zushi Temple, which has become one of the most enduring and intricately crafted temples in Taiwan. One of the tour guides in the memorial hall is Master Li Meishu's son, who himself occasionally appears in the paintings, adding a layer of interest and imagination as visitors listen to the explanations of the characters in the artwork.
