Li Meishu Memorial Hall Introduction
Located in the Sanxia District of New Taipei City, it was established in April 1995 as a memorial hall dedicated to Taiwanese painter Li Meishu and showcasing his works. The hall houses masterpieces and various cultural relics from Mr. Li's life. His artistic creations primarily aim to present the beauty of Taiwanese landscapes, adopting a realistic style. His most beloved works feature the scenery of Sanxia, imbued with his artistic philosophy emphasizing "wind, earth, people, and emotions." However, some of his works have a unique style; for example, "The Boy Teasing the Turkey" employs a 3D technique, reminiscent of the world-renowned painting "Mona Lisa." Master Li Meishu had a deep affection for his hometown of Sanxia and devoted much of his life to building the ancestral temple, making it one of the most enduring and intricately crafted temples in Taiwan. One of the tour guides in the memorial hall is actually Master Li's son, who himself occasionally appears in the paintings, adding an element of fun and depth to the experience as visitors listen to him explain the artwork.
