Jing'an Suspension Bridge Introduction
The Jing'an Suspension Bridge, located in the Shifen District of New Taipei City, is colorful and eye-catching. It sits between Shifen Li and Nanshan Li, nearby the Shifen Railway Station and Shifen Old Street. It is an important connecting bridge and the most prominent landmark in the Shifen Liao area. The bridge has a long history; originally, it was used to transport coal. After the coal mining operations ceased, it was converted into a pedestrian thoroughfare, which it has faithfully served ever since. The suspension bridge is 128 meters long, connecting Shifen Li and Nanshan Li. It was built in 1947 for coal transportation. Positioned close to the Shifen Train Station and Old Street, with the Keelung River flowing below, the blue and white suspension bridge has also become a popular spot for tourists to take photos.
