Shimen Kite Park Introduction
Shimen Kite Park, located near Shimen Laomei, covers an area of approximately 6 hectares and is the most suitable venue for kite flying and international competitions in Southeast Asia. It originated from the annual festival held in Shimen District - the Shimen Kite Festival. Since its inception, it has attracted numerous kite enthusiasts from both domestic and international locations, bringing considerable tourism benefits to the area. With the establishment of the Kite Park, kite flyers from around the world, as well as families and couples, can enjoy a suitable place to fly kites and experience the joy of harnessing the wind at any time. Shimen District is known as the "Hometown of Kites" due to its ideal topography for kite flying. The kite festival it promotes has thus become a hallmark of the district, drawing many kite experts each year who showcase their skills, with a variety of kites soaring in the sky and competing visually, making it a captivating sight. The event also encourages creative ideas, revitalizing traditional kites from childhood through hands-on participation, allowing visitors to enjoy many unique and innovative designs, injecting new vitality into kite culture.
