Shimen Kite Park Introduction
Shimen Kite Park, located near Shimen Old Plum, covers an area of approximately 6 hectares and is one of the most suitable locations for kite flying and international competitions in Southeast Asia. It originated from the annual festival held in Shimen District—the Shimen Kite Festival. Since its inception, the festival has attracted many kite enthusiasts from both domestic and international backgrounds each year, bringing significant tourism benefits to the local area. The establishment of the kite park allows kite flyers, including families and couples, to have an appropriate venue for flying kites at any time and enjoy the fun of riding the wind. Shimen District is known as the "Hometown of Kites," and due to its suitable terrain for kite flying, the promoted kite festival has become a characteristic feature of the district. Each year, it draws many kite enthusiasts from around the world to showcase their skills, with a variety of kites soaring in the sky and engaging in friendly competition, making it a spectacular sight. The event also encourages creativity by innovating traditional kites that were played with in childhood, emphasizing the importance of both playing and creating; visitors can appreciate many imaginative designs, injecting new vitality into kite culture.
