Shimen Kite Park Introduction
Shimen Kite Park, located near Shimen Laomei, covers an area of approximately 6 hectares and is one of the most suitable sites for kite flying and international competitions in Southeast Asia. It originated from the annual Shimen Kite Festival held in the Shimen District. To this day, it attracts many kite enthusiasts from both domestic and abroad every year, bringing significant tourism benefits to the area. The establishment of the kite park allows kite enthusiasts, families, and couples both locally and internationally to have an appropriate place to fly kites and enjoy the pleasure of flying with the wind. Shimen District is known as the "Hometown of Kites" due to its geography being conducive to kite flying, making the promoted kite festival a characteristic event of the district. Each year, it draws numerous kite experts from domestic and abroad to showcase their skills, with an array of colorful kites soaring in the sky, presenting a spectacular sight. During the event, participants are also encouraged to display creativity by innovating on traditional kites from their childhood, not only engaging in flying but also in making them, allowing for the appreciation of many unique and creative designs that inject new vitality into kite culture.
