Jumping Stone Coast Introduction

The coastline north of Jinshan is picturesque, and the Jump Rock Coast, located at the northernmost end, is one of the best spots for sea viewing. There were once many households living in the area around Jump Rock Coast, relying on the sea for their livelihood, often needing to go into the water to fish or collect seaweed. Before the Danjin Highway was opened, the churning waves made it difficult to pass, and the residents and travelers had to wait for the tide to recede and then hop along the large rocks by the shore, which is how the name "Jump Rock" came to be. The North Bin block where Jinshan is located was originally deposited on the seabed, and later rose to the surface due to gradual crustal uplift. Subsequently, the pressure from the Eurasian and Philippine Sea plates caused geothermal activity, melting magma that erupted to form the Datun Volcano Group. The volcanic material spread out, and the Jump Rock Coast is a remnant of this accumulation, now a unique volcanic coastal landscape. The chaotic giant boulders at Jump Rock Coast create a shimmering surface where gentle waves ripple, and the white waves crash like silver foamy crests, showcasing the majestic and rugged beauty of nature combined with its gentle and delicate wonders. When you drive to Jump Rock Coast and gaze at the long coastline filled with countless piles of pebbles of various sizes, you can't help but imagine the ancestors carrying heavy loads of agricultural and fishery products, laboriously hopping through the stones, inducing a deep sense of nostalgia.
