Jinshan Jump Stone Coast Introduction
Along the Danjin Highway heading towards Shimen, the mountain walls closely approach the sea, creating a coastline that stretches for several dozen kilometers. Scattered along the shore are pebbles of various sizes, and one can see waves crashing onto the shore, producing white foam. Every autumn and winter, the sky over the North Coast changes dramatically, and this breathtaking scenery has become a classic view of the Tiao Shi Coast, attracting countless travelers to visit. Whether enjoying a cup of afternoon tea at a nearby café or taking a leisurely walk along the coastline feeling the sea breeze, one can appreciate the stunning beauty of the Tiao Shi Coast. The name "Tiao Shi Coast" originated before the Danjin Highway was opened when the surging waves prevented travelers from passing. Residents and merchants had to wait for the tide to go out before they could jump over the pebbles, making the journey quite challenging, hence the name "Tiao Shi Coast." At the Tiao Shi Coast, one can find smooth pebbles everywhere, remnants of volcanic rock ejected during volcanic activity from the Datun volcano thousands of years ago. Subsequent landslides caused many stones to roll down, gradually forming beaches. Over time, the relentless erosion by waves and the northeast monsoons has shaped these round pebbles, creating a unique volcanic coastal landscape. It is a perfect spot for travelers to pause, converse with the Tiao Shi Coast, unwind, and enjoy a leisurely time.
