Jinshan Jumping Stone Coast Introduction
Along the coastal Jinshan Highway heading toward Shimen, the cliffs cling closely to the sea, stretching for several dozen kilometers along the coastline. Scattered with pebbles of various sizes, one can observe waves crashing onto the shore, creating a beautiful white foam effect. During the autumn and winter seasons, the sky over the North Coast changes dramatically, presenting breathtaking scenery that has become the iconic view of the Jump Stone Coast, attracting countless travelers. Whether enjoying afternoon tea at a nearby café or taking a stroll along the coastline while feeling the sea breeze, visitors can take in the stunning beauty of the Jump Stone Coast. The name "Jump Stone Coast" originated before the coastal Jinshan Highway was opened, when the turbulent sea waves hindered travelers. Residents and merchants passing through had to wait for the tide to recede before they could hop across the rocky shore, a challenging ordeal, hence the name "Jump Stone Coast." At this extensive coastline, one can converse with stones from thousands of years ago. The rounded pebbles found here are remnants of volcanic rocks ejected from the Datun Volcano millions of years ago. Following landslides that brought down most of the stones, they gradually accumulated to form the beach. With prolonged erosion from the waves and winds from the northeast monsoon, these rounded pebbles have created this unique volcanic coastal landscape, making it a perfect spot for travelers to stop, relax, and enjoy leisurely moments at the Jump Stone Coast.
