Chih Tan Mountain Trail Introduction
Zhitanshan is located in Quchi Village, Xindian District, New Taipei City, at the confluence of the Xindian River, Beishi River, and Nanshi River. From its summit, you can overlook Huayuan New Town nearby, gaze south towards Datong Mountain, and west towards Xiong Kong Mountain. The trails on the mountain also follow the route of the "Ayi Line" from the Japanese colonial period. At an elevation of 728.8 meters, Zhitanshan is situated near the Xindian River in the Quchi area of Xindian District, New Taipei City. To the northwest of the summit, you can see the Huayuan New Town community. Its main ridge is the northern ridge of Xueshan, with Datong Mountain and Luohong Mountain to the south and Xiong Kong Mountain and Shizishan to the west. There are several hiking routes in the area, ranging in length, with the main route being the Zhitanshan Longitudinal Trek, which involves traversing seven mountain peaks, including Zhongling Mountain, Jixin Peak, Anbaojian Mountain, Chijiaolan Mountain, and the rear mountains of Shiding (over 25 kilometers in total). However, due to the long distance and significant elevation changes, this trek is generally not suitable for those who are not experienced hikers.
