Xindian Dapinglin Business District Introduction
Xindian District in New Taipei City is located at the southern edge of the Taipei Basin, bordered by Zhonghe District to the north, Tucheng District to the west, Shiding District to the east, and Sanxia District and Wulai District to the south. It serves as the transportation and commercial center of the southern New Taipei City. Originally inhabited by the indigenous people of the Siolang community and the Atayal tribe, it primarily engaged in a tribal lifestyle of fishing and hunting. In the early 18th century, Han Chinese immigrants introduced new agricultural methods such as plowing and farming, transforming the original landscape. Taking advantage of the convenient water transport provided by the Xindian River, commercial activities flourished, and the Dapiyuan business district gradually took shape.
