Cimu Mountain Trail Introduction

The Pingxi area of New Taipei City is surrounded by mountains, comprising about 20 peaks, and is known as "the Mountain of Twenty-Four Filial Sons." Among these peaks are three famous mountains: Xiaozisun Mountain, Cimu Peak, and Putuo Mountain. They appear to be steep and inaccessible, but fortunately, there are man-made rock steps carved into the rugged and hard ridges, along with ropes or railings to assist climbers, making it a popular destination for many hikers. The trail starts from the climbing entrance at Shidif Bridge, passing through a low-altitude broadleaf forest valley, arriving at a crossroads where three peaks intersect. To the left leads to Xiaozisun Mountain, to the right to Putuo Mountain, and going straight will take you to Cimu Peak. Cimu Peak stands at an elevation of 410 meters, and from its summit, you can continue north to reach the prominent Putuo Mountain.

Transportation Methods：【By Car】 1. Take National Highway No. 1, exit at Nuan Nuan Interchange, connect to Provincial Highway 2 → turn onto Route 106 to Pingxi Junior High School at kilometer 61.5. 2. Take National Highway No. 5, exit at Shiding Interchange, pass through Shiding → turn onto Route 106 to Pingxi Junior High School at kilometer 61.5. 【Public Transportation】 By train: Get off at Ruifang Station on the Taiwan Railways, transfer to the Pingxi Branch Line train to Pingxi Station, and walk towards Pingxi Junior High School. By bus: Take the Wenshan MRT Line to Muzha Station, then transfer to bus 795 Taipei Bus (Muzha-Pingxi Line) to Pingxi Junior High School Station.

Remarks：1. Trail difficulty level: Nature hiking type (mainly using permeable surfaces such as wood and stone paving along with moderate facilities, designed for those who seek closeness to nature and have the ability to hike on natural mountain paths) 2. Total route length is approximately 0.14 kilometers.
