Ci Mu Peak Hiking Trail Introduction

The Pingxi area in New Taipei City is surrounded by peaks, with more than 20 hills collectively known as the "Twenty-Four Filial Piety Mountains." Among them are three notable mountains: Mount Hsiao-Tzu, Mount Mother, and Mount Putuo, which appear daunting and difficult to climb. Fortunately, there are artificial stone steps carved into the steep, hard rock ridges, along with ropes or railings to assist climbers, attracting many hiking enthusiasts. The trail begins at the entrance near Shiditou Bridge, passing through a low-elevation broadleaf forest valley to reach the intersection where the three peaks converge. To the left is Mount Hsiao-Tzu, to the right is Mount Putuo, and straight ahead leads to Mount Mother. With an elevation of 410 meters, one can continue from the summit of Mount Mother northward to reach the prominent Mount Putuo.

Transportation Methods：【By Car】 1. Take National Highway 1, exit at Nuannuan Interchange, then transfer to Taiwan Route 106 to Pingxi Junior High School at 61.5K. 2. Take National Highway 5, exit at Shiding Interchange, pass through Shiding, then transfer to Taiwan Route 106 to Pingxi Junior High School at 61.5K. 【Public Transportation】 By Train: Get off at Ruifang Station on the Taiwan Railways, transfer to the Pingxi Line train to Pingxi Station, then walk towards Pingxi Junior High School. By Bus: Take the Wenhu Line MRT to Muzha Station, then transfer to Taipei Bus 795 (Muzha-Pingxi Line) to Pingxi Junior High School Station.

Remarks：1. Trail difficulty level: Nature hiking type (mainly with permeable surfaces such as wood and stone, and moderately used facilities, designed for those who wish to get close to nature and have the capability for natural mountain path hiking) 2. The total length of the route is approximately 0.14 kilometers.
