Dongxing Temple Introduction

Dongxing Temple, located just a few hundred meters from Longmen Camping Area, has stood here since 10 years before the Republic era. In the year corresponding to the Chinese lunar calendar of Renyin, the local gentry Wu A-Dai and Wu You-Tou invited the deities from Jinwen Temple in Keelung and Pingdiao Society to be worshiped at this site for the well-being of the villagers. A thatched hut was constructed to enshrine them, and since then, miracles have occurred: favorable weather, national prosperity, peace for all classes, and prosperity for farmers and workers alike. The sick who prayed here found healing, and the number of devotees has steadily increased, leading to a prosperous incense offering. By the 15th year of the Republic, the temple was renovated to its current grand and solemn appearance. The beachfront in front of Dongxing Temple's square has recently become a favorite spot for surfers. After enjoying a hearty meal at a nearby seafood restaurant, if you feel too lazy to move, why not spend a leisurely afternoon here? You can watch the amazing skills of the sea dragons and water goddesses. In the evening, when the sunset extends its glow, this location offers a perfect view of the coastal sunset, making it worth a visit as a relaxing spot before a band performance.
