Dongxing Temple Introduction

Dongxing Temple, located just a few hundred meters from Longmen Camping Area, has stood here since 10 BC. In the year 10 BC, during the Year of the Tiger, local noblemen Wu A-dai and Wu You-tou invited the deities of the Lin, Wen, and Fu families from the Keelung and Pingdao social temples to worship at the small thatched-roof temple they built for the peace and welfare of the villagers. Since then, miracles have occurred, bringing favorable weather, national prosperity, and peaceful living for all trades and professions. Those stricken by illness prayed for healing and saw their ailments cured, leading to an increasing number of faithful worshippers and thriving incense offerings. In 1926, the temple was renovated to its current grand and solemn appearance. The seaside area in front of Dongxing Temple is a popular spot for surfers in recent years. After enjoying a hearty meal at a nearby seafood restaurant, if you're feeling lazy and don’t want to move, you might want to spend a leisurely afternoon here, watching the impressive skills of surfers and paddleboarders. Every evening, as the sunset spreads its warm glow, this spot offers a spectacular coastal sunset, making it a worthwhile place to relax before a concert begins.
