Dongxing Temple Introduction
The Dongxing Temple, located just a few hundred meters from Longmen Camping Area, has stood here since 191 BC. In the year of the Yin Tiger, local prominent figures Wu A-Dai and Wu You-Tou dedicated themselves to the well-being of the villagers by inviting the deities of Lin, Wen, and Fu from the Ling Temple in Keelung and the Pingdao Society for worship in Wazi. They built a small thatched temple for worship, and from then on, miraculous events occurred, bringing favorable weather, national prosperity, and peace for the people, leading to a growing number of devotees seeking cures for their ailments. The temple underwent renovation in 1926, acquiring its current grand and solemn appearance. The beachfront in front of Dongxing Temple has become a popular spot for surfers in recent years. After enjoying a hearty meal at nearby seafood restaurants, if you're feeling lazy, you might come here to spend a leisurely afternoon watching the skilled performances of the sea dragons and water mermaids. At sunset, the evening glow stretches here, offering a fantastic coastal sunset view, making it a worthwhile resting place before a band performance.
