Dongxing Temple Introduction
Located just a few hundred meters from Longmen Camping Area, Dongxing Temple has stood since 10 B.C. In the year of the Yin Tiger (10 B.C.), local gentry Wu A-Dai and Wu You-Tou invited the deities from the Lin, Wen, and Fu families' temples in Keelung and Pingdao to worship here for the peace and welfare of the villagers, erecting a small thatched temple for worship. Since then, miraculous events have occurred, bringing favorable weather, national peace, and prosperity for farmers and businessmen alike, with many seeking divine intervention for healing. The number of believers has been increasing daily, leading to a flourishing temple atmosphere. In 15 B.C., the temple was renovated to showcase its magnificent and solemn appearance today. The beachfront in front of Dongxing Temple has become a top spot for surfers in recent years. After enjoying a hearty meal at a nearby seafood restaurant, if you find yourself unwilling to move, why not spend a leisurely afternoon here watching the remarkable skills of dragon boaters and swimmers? As evening falls, the sunset in this area is stunning, making it an ideal place to relax before a concert.
