Dongxing Temple Introduction
Dongxing Temple, located just a few hundred meters from Longmen Camping Area, has stood since the 10th year before the Republic of China (R.O.C.) era. In the 10th year of the R.O.C. under the Yin year, local gentry Wu A-Dai and Wu You-Tou sought the well-being of the villagers by inviting the deities from the Lin, Wen, and Fu families' temples in Keelung and Pingdao to hold incense offerings. They built a thatched temple for worship, and since then, miraculous events occurred, bringing harmony and prosperity, with stable living conditions for farmers and merchants alike, and many illnesses cured through prayers. The number of devoted followers increased day by day, leading to a flourishing incense offering. By the 15th year of the R.O.C., the temple was renovated to its current majestic and solemn appearance. The beach in front of Dongxing Temple is a popular spot for surfers in recent years. After enjoying a delicious meal at nearby seafood restaurants, if you feel lazy and don’t want to move, you can spend a leisurely afternoon watching skilled performances of surfers and paddleboarders. Every evening, the sunset casts a splendid glow here, providing an excellent view of the coastal sunset, making it a perfect place to relax before a concert begins.
