Old Caoling Circular Bikeway Introduction
The Old Caoling Tunnel Bicycle Path is approximately 20 kilometers long, and riding a bicycle back and forth takes about 2 hours, starting from Fulong Station. Along the way, you can enjoy views of Guishan Island, with a continuous coastline and magnificent cliffs accompanying your ride, making it a must-visit spot for appreciating the stunning scenery of mountains and seas. The route passes through the Old Caoling Tunnel, crossing the border between New Taipei and Yilan. After passing through the cool and tranquil tunnel, it feels like stepping into a world reminiscent of "Spirited Away," with a vast ocean on the other side. Along the way, you will encounter two quaint fishing villages, Magang and Miaoao, where time seems to stand still. Bicycle rentals are available at stores on both sides outside Fulong Station, and it is strongly recommended to rent an electric bicycle if you wish to complete the entire circular route, as physical stamina may be a concern. Additionally, during summer rides, make sure to prepare for sun protection by bringing a mask, bottled water, and other essentials.
