Old Caoling Circular Bike Path Introduction
The Old Caoling Tunnel Bicycle Path is approximately 20 kilometers long, taking about 2 hours for a round trip by bicycle, starting from Fulong Station. As you ride, you can enjoy views of Guishan Island along with a continuous coastline and magnificent cliffs, making it a must-visit spot to appreciate the beautiful scenery where the mountains meet the sea! Along the way, you'll pass through the Old Caoling Tunnel, crossing the boundary between New Taipei and Yilan. After passing through the cool and tranquil tunnel, it feels as though you have entered the world of "Spirited Away," with the vast ocean on the other side. You will also encounter two small fishing villages that feel like a paradise: Magang and Ma'ao, where time seems to stand still. Bicycle rentals are available at shops on both sides outside Fulong Station, and it is strongly recommended to rent an electric bicycle from these shops if you wish to complete the full circular route, especially if you may lack stamina for the ride. Additionally, during the summer, please ensure to take sun protection measures, such as bringing masks and bottled water.
