Old Caoling Circular Bike Path Introduction
The Old Caoling Tunnel Bike Path is approximately 20 kilometers long, and cycling back and forth takes about 2 hours. The starting point is Fulong Station, where you can enjoy the view of Guishan Island, with the continuous coastline and majestic mountains accompanying your ride. It is a must-visit spot for appreciating the beautiful scenery where mountains meet the sea! Along the way, you will pass through the Old Caoling Tunnel, traversing the border between New Taipei City and Yilan County. After passing through the serene and cool tunnel, it feels like entering the world of Spirited Away, with the vast ocean waiting on the other side. You will also pass by two quaint fishing villages, Magang and Mao'ao, where time seems to stand still. Bicycle rental shops are located on both sides of Fulong Station, and it is highly recommended to rent an electric bike from these shops if you wish to complete the full circular route, as your energy may not be sufficient. Additionally, during the summer, be sure to prepare for sun protection by bringing sunscreen, masks, and bottled water.
